Has traditional talk therapy not quite worked for you? Lily offers a different approach. While talking things out can be valuable, it shouldn’t be the only tool in the toolbox. Her goal is to help clients heal from what they’re struggling with, not just cope. This means guiding individuals to the root of their inner experiences and fostering a deeper connection to themselves, their lives, and others. Specializing in compassionate navigation of the inner world, she supports people working through anxiety, depression, trauma, people pleasing, self-worth, identity, relationships, and perfectionism. Sessions involve connecting to emotions, understanding how the inner world developed, and moving toward a more grounded, authentic self. Trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute, she uses this as her primary approach. She also values the mind-body connection, incorporating somatic practices, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and values-based work. As a relationally oriented therapist, she emphasizes collaboration, careful listening, encouragement, and humor. Believing that each client is the expert of their own life, her role is to support the strengthening of their relationship with themselves.

My goal is to walk alongside my clients as they navigate the unique experience they're currently facing. I strive to create a safe place for individuals to come and share their experience with Grief, Loss, Caregiving, Anxiety, Depression and Life Transitions. I integrate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Person-Centered Therapy throughout the counseling process but may use various theories of therapy to best serve you and your situation. My experience includes working as a Grief Counselor and Support Group Coordinator at a hospice organization, where I was able to support many individuals coping with the significant journey of grief. I understand that grief can be life altering and believe no one should have to go through it alone. I prioritize honesty, compassion, non-judgement, and trust. I'm honored to walk alongside my clients through such significant moments in their lives.

Are you struggling with feelings of disconnection and isolation? Are you too self-critical or perfectionistic and want to work on your self-esteem and sense of self? Do you want to learn how to let go, have fun, and live in the moment? Do you want to get more in touch with your playful and creative inner child? Does the idea of doing improv comedy make you feel nervous, but you’re intrigued? Do you like to laugh? Within a small, supportive group of 4-7 people that meets for eight weeks, you will learn how to be more compassionate towards yourself so that you can feel calmer and more connected to other people, more often! You will practice your self-compassion skills in real-time through tailored improv comedy exercises that are designed to support you on the path toward increasing your self-acceptance and self-confidence. At its core, improv comedy helps you to take risks, make mistakes, and not take yourself so seriously. We will laugh a lot : ) Past clients have said… “I always felt nervous to go, but felt like something had been released after each session." “I love the space to talk about what we are dealing with. I have never been actually excited to go to therapy until finding this group.” "The play and improv was beneficial for my perfectionism because I got to experience just diving into things." "I loved connecting with people who I felt really understood me.” “I am forever changed!”

When you’re in need of compassionate mental health care, you deserve genuine openness from a therapist who strives to be your advocate at all times. I look forward to being that advocate for you, learning more about who you are as an individual while exploring the ways we can achieve your collaborative goals together. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner with more than a decade of experience, I help adults navigate challenges posed by depressive and anxiety disorders as well as assist with processing and treating trauma and grief that individuals have experienced throughout their lives. My goal is to make in-depth inquiries and connections that get to the root of your struggles and build the skills needed to overcome any obstacle. I'm passionate about helping redefine the past and instilling hope for greater mental wellness. That’s why my method is centered around openness and grounded in the idea that you are not broken and needing to be "fixed." Instead, we use your life experiences to heal and explore the person you would like to be. In our time together, you can expect a kind, casual, and inquisitive environment when exploring your symptoms and history. I operate with a person-centered, Rogerian approach, using the concept of "unconditional positive regard" and a conversational style, so you feel understood in a non-judgmental way and at ease when discussing difficult history. I have served the Denver community as a psychiatric nurse practitioner based in mental health for the majority of my career. During this time, I had the honor of treating a wide number of diagnoses and severities of symptoms across ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic hardships. These experiences taught me just how nuanced mental health care truly is, allowing me to see a person not as "one diagnosis," but to take into account their entire history, relationship dynamics, and values to best tailor treatment, leading to greater well-being. When I’m not in my therapist role, I am a hobbyist woodworker and woodturner. I enjoy building and tinkering with models, as well as other creative outlets like cooking and baking sourdough bread.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly 15 years of experience and I’m passionate about partnering with individuals on their journey toward improved health and well-being. As a health psychologist, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life as they navigate the challenges that often accompany mental and physical health concerns. Currently, I specialize in supporting adolescents and adults dealing with stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and other health-related issues. A bit about my approach to therapy: I believe therapy is a deeply personal experience, and it’s essential to understand and support the whole person. It’s important to me that every individual feels respected, heard, and that the goals we work toward in therapy are collaborative and meaningful. My hope is that each person feels supported as they make progress toward their goals and gain tools they can carry with them outside of therapy.

Hi, I’m Joanna Lester—founder of First Circle Therapy, a Colorado-based virtual practice. I specialize in working with college and grad students who are thoughtful, creative, and sensitive—but overwhelmed by the pressure to keep it all together. If you're juggling deadlines, relationships, family expectations, and big questions about who you're becoming, you might feel anxious, unmotivated, burned out, or just not yourself. You’re not alone—and therapy can be a space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with what really matters to you. Our work can help you move through cycles of self-doubt, people-pleasing, or perfectionism and into a more grounded, self-led life. Whether you're processing trauma, navigating identity shifts, or learning to set healthier boundaries, I offer space to explore your inner world with clarity and care. In our sessions, we’ll use nervous system tools (to help your body shift out of fight-or-flight and feel more at ease) and parts work (to help the different sides of you—like the achiever, avoider, or inner critic—work together instead of against each other). You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. I offer free consultations to see if we’re a fit, and I accept several major insurance plans to make therapy more accessible. Feel free to reach out—no pressure.

Over the last 25 years I have worked with clients who are seeking, peace, healing and develop insight and self-awareness. In my work with clients, there are several treatment modalities utilized, primarily CBT, Somatic Therapy, Whole Person and art therapy. One of my primary focuses with my clients is to create and/or improve their self-care plan since it is instrumental in managing daily stressors and mental health concerns. Self-care is important for me to also have in place and my self-care plan includes photography, being an avid football fan (and most sports), time with my friends and family

I often work with students who are dealing with anxiety, school stress, family conflict, or feeling overwhelmed by expectations. Healing is a deeply personal journey, and having the right support can make all the difference. As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with eight years of experience in mental health settings, my work centers on helping children and adults from all walks of life navigate mood, anxiety, neurodevelopmental, and trauma-related disorders with skill, compassion, and care. Whether you're seeking medication management, psychotherapy, or a thoughtful combination of both, you can expect a partner who is committed to helping you feel seen, understood, and valued every step of the way. Whatever brings you here, you deserve care that honors your full story. From the moment we begin working together, you can expect a space that is warm, respectful, and completely free of judgment. Creating an authentic and relaxed environment where you feel safe to show up as you are is something I'm deeply committed to. My approach is evidence-based and patient-centered, shaped by a genuine belief in your innate resilience and strength. Sessions are collaborative by design, and the direction of our work is guided by your unique goals, life experiences, and the parts of your identity that matter most to you. No two people are alike, and treatment should reflect that. Together, we'll tailor a path that supports you in living a life that feels genuinely fulfilling. The path that led me to psychiatric nursing began early in my career, when I recognized how often mental health concerns were treated as secondary to physical ones. That realization sparked a lasting commitment to whole-person care that honors the deep connection between mind and body by empowering patients to reach their highest potential. Bringing a holistic perspective to every session means looking beyond symptoms and considering the full picture of who you are and what you need. Your mental and physical health are not separate, and the care you receive should reflect that. Outside of the office, you'll find me spending time with family and friends, hiking or simply being in nature, and staying active through exercise. My Pomeranians keep life wonderfully entertaining, and I love exploring new restaurants and traveling whenever I can. Cooking is another favorite, whether it's recreating a dish from a recent trip or testing something entirely new in the kitchen.
