My approach relies on a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship where we can safely engage in healing work. We will navigate the pains and challenges of today, while fostering an understanding of how the past has played a role - all while inclining toward a meaningful future. I will provide tools for immediate relief as needed to support this process. I often work with folks who are highly sensitive, feel different or misunderstood, have overwhelming emotions, struggle with relationships, have low self-esteem, are queer or questioning, or are seeking to develop identity, purpose, and meaning in life. I strive to help clients recognize their strengths in difficult times and promote healing from past hardships, stress, and addiction issues. I use a holistic approach, with emphasis on the mind-body connection. I believe that healing takes place in the context of relationships. Therefore it is vital to establish trust and acceptance between therapist and client. Several clients have told me that they appreciate my compassionate, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach. I am a licensed clinical social worker and addictions counselor with eleven years of experience working in mental health and addictions. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, life transition issues, and addiction. I work primarily with adults and young adults. I received my bachelor's from the University of Colorado, and my master's in Clinical Social Work from Boston University. In addition to my Master's degree, I hold a License in Addiction Counseling. I use techniques such as mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), insight-building, and strengths-based counseling to assist clients through the healing process.
College is usually sold as "the best years of your life," but for a lot of students, it feels more like a non-stop cycle of pressure. At Alpine Creek, we work best with students who are tired of pretending they have it all figured out. Most of our student clients come to us because they feel like they’re just "getting by" rather than actually living. What it often feels like: Constant Brain Fog: You’re physically in class, but your mind is stuck on your to-do list, your grades, or a conversation that went wrong three days ago. The "Social Battery" is Dead: Trying to find your place on campus or dealing with roommate drama is leaving you feeling more drained than connected. Relationship Stress: Whether it's a long-distance struggle or a new relationship here in town, you’re arguing more and feeling less understood. Heavy Weight: You might be carrying things from your past, like trauma or old family stuff, that feels like it’s getting heavier now that you’re on your own. The "What’s the Point?" Feeling: It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re dealing with deep sadness or an anxiety that won't let you catch your breath. How we help: We don’t do "clinical" or "stuffy" therapy. We provide a straightforward, safe space to just be a human. We help you look at the patterns that keep you stuck and give you actual tools to manage the panic, the low moods, and the relationship blowouts.
I spent much of my adult life working in Emergency Medicine as a Paramedic before going to the Physician Assistant program at Loma Linda University in Southern California. After graduating from there in 2018, I spent the past five years working in addiction medicine in a residential treatment program in Boulder, Colorado. Working in addiction medicine, I commonly assisted adult patients, of all ages, dealing with anxiety, depression, cravings, withdrawal symptoms and sleep challenges. Patients would often come to me wanting to reduce their amount of medications to just what was helpful and necessary and I would take a lot of pride in helping them achieve that goal. Genetic testing provides a helpful tool to initially choose, change or adjust a dose of a particular medication. I believe that it is important to meet an individual where they are in the healing process and to address the whole person rather than just the presenting problem or symptom. To address the “whole person” requires getting a detailed history and a partnership between patient and provider. Establishing such a partnership gives me great joy.

I firmly believe that everyone has the answers and power within them to heal themselves! I am here to offer professional guidance, a safe space, hope for recovery, and to help facilitate you finding your power and "light" within!

Do you lie awake at night, sheets twisting beneath you, worst-case scenarios running through your head? On social media, you’re bombarded with horrific news of terrorist attacks, plane crashes, mass shootings. The unremarkable posts hurt just as much. Captions like “My mom is the best! I’d be lost without her!” make you clench up inside, heat coursing through your veins. People tell you to “Stay strong,” but they have no idea what you’ve been through. After experiencing trauma, nothing feels safe or certain. You want to curl up on the couch and push everything else away. I am so glad you are here. You deserve to be seen, heard and understood. With an outstretched hand, I will meet you where you are and together we can walk towards wholeness and healing. Imagine waking up fully rested, enjoying that smooth cup of coffee, driving to work confident that you can handle the day’s challenges and feeling fully present in your life. I’m ready to help you heal from trauma. Let's shed the shame and weight so you feel calm and in control. Send me an email today so we can schedule our first session. You deserve to take up space. You are worth it.

Life is difficult under the best of circumstances. You may be suffering with anxiety or depression. Perhaps you’re managing a life transition (or two or three), searching for identity and purpose, or looking for ways forward after stepping into sobriety. Maybe you’re struggling in relationships. Or maybe you’re just generally trying to figure yourself out. You may be seeking therapy in order to realize vital goals in your relationships or career. These struggles may be the result of using ways of coping that once were vital in dealing with important people and problems from earlier in life, but which now get in the way of a healthy emotional life and positive relationships. Therapy is a great way of using a healing relationship to identify these coping styles, and ultimately to develop more effective ways of relating to yourself and to others in order to maximize your potential and life satisfaction. I know the struggles of growing through therapy over years of treatment, the difficulty of getting into therapy and staying with it long term. Let’s work together to address the ways in which you suffer so you can experience more freedom in life, get more of what you want and less of what you don’t want. I have been fortunate to have the privilege of providing support and services to a wide range of individuals which includes children, adolescents, adults and families. I enjoy providing a range of therapeutic services including individual, couples and family therapy. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, relationship issues and trauma. As a proud member of the counseling profession, I am passionate about my mission to help others gain the insight and clarity they seek to overcome the inevitable challenges that life offers. I realize that reaching out for help is deeply personal and I am grateful to have the opportunity to assist those who are interested in my services.
You and your life isn’t one note. You are multifaceted and the demands you face happen to be as well – particularly when you are a student. Currently, the sound-track of your life has moved away from the sounds of a harmonious symphony -or maybe from an upbeat pop song- to something more unnerving and stressful (like the alarm you use to wake up to in the morning or the background music in a horror film—building tension, bracing yourself from some known or unknown threat). It makes sense that life has been overwhelming -increased responsibilities and life demands alone would contribute to this feeling. Add fears about the future, a recent breakup, challenging relationship dynamics with family, and/or other stressors and you might find yourself tipping the scales of your emotional bandwidth. I help students focus on the unique aspects of their lives that are no longer serving them – with empathy, tools, problem-solving, and emotional healing and growth. I believe you can have a richer and higher-quality of life– free from the overwhelming influence of your current life demands, harmful past experiences, poor modeling, and environmental toxicities (psychological). I'm an LGBTQIA+, anxiety, and trauma therapist, working with students across Colorado. Do you feel weighed down by anxiety, trauma, identity struggles, or the lasting impact of religious harm? Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+ adults or survivors of religious trauma who carry exhaustion, dread, and fear from living in systems that questioned, silenced, or shamed who they are. Clients also come to me with anxiety, which often shows up as hypervigilance, burnout, or the ache of feeling like you're not enough. You may long for healing and the freedom to be fully yourself. You are not alone, healing is possible, and your story matters. I provide affirming, trauma-informed therapy rooted in narrative, somatic, and liberation-focused practices. Together we’ll untangle harmful messages that have shaped you, teach your body to feel safe, calm your nervous system, and re-author the stories holding you back. You'll reclaim your identity while moving toward a more authentic and empowered life. As a queer-affirming, feminist, and anti-oppressive therapist, I offer care that is tender, respectful, and at the right pace for you. Whether you’re healing from trauma, recovering from a harmful spiritual background, or seeking growth beyond anxiety or hard life transitions, I'll walk with you in it. Click on my website, email me, or call/text (719)-626-1427 to learn more.
Students I work with often have a lot on their plate and feel stuck trying to manage it all. You might be dealing with anxiety, feeling down, struggling in your relationships, or unsure of your direction. Even if things look “fine” on the outside, you may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or frustrated by patterns that don’t seem to change. Many of the students I work with are motivated for things to be different, even if they’re not sure how to get there yet. You may have tried to figure things out on your own but feel ready for support that is practical and actually helps you move forward. In our work together, I focus on what’s already working in your life and help you build from there. Therapy with me is collaborative, respectful, and centered around your goals. You can expect a supportive space where you feel heard, gain clarity, and take manageable steps toward feeling better, improving your relationships, and creating meaningful change.
