I have maintained an independent private practice since 1992. I am confident that you will find my "keep it simple" and goal directed approach fitting to your needs. You will know by the end of our first visit if we "connected". Establishing rapport is instrumental in moving forward and achieving your goals. In addition to providing outpatient counseling to young adults and adults I provide substance abuse and anger management assessments.

*Telehealth/video sessions I have spent most of my career working as a therapist in a college counseling center. I am very familiar with all the challenges that being a student and balancing a new life bring. Becoming who you are going to be -while feeling and balancing all the things can seem so overwhelming! I work well with students who are struggling with fear, anxiety (social and other), relationships, old memories, trauma, recovering from sexual assault, past abuse, family conflict, low self esteem, worthlessness, self harm, eating difficulties, existential crisis, coming out-LGBTQ, and multicultural issues. My students tend to learn who they are and what matters to them, how to feel more peaceful, more joyful, more at ease, and more self loving. They often learn how to communicate better, say no, sleep at night, and have healthier relationships with others. I partner a lot with people who are healing from PTSD, or are grieving and have suffered losses as well. A lot of my clients say they feel more courageous, more at home in their body, more content being themselves and trusting of themselves after we work together. They feel empowered and comfortable being who they are. Although I am a private pay practice, please ask me about my student discount.I have a passion for working with students. We can also talk about appointment availability. If you are covered by insurance, I can give you a Superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Marriage & Family Therapist

My practice specializes in providing clinical counseling and consulting services for diverse populations from a systemic lens. I provide individual and family counseling, evaluations for ADHD & autism, forensic family law evaluations, as well as clinical supervision for Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy interns seeking licensure in Florida. I focus my clinical work on helping adolescents and teens under stress and adults who have lived through difficult times as children. This means that many of my clients identify as Gen-Z, millennials, and high-achieving professionals who have experienced trauma in their families of origin and desire to seek and engage in healthier relationships with themselves and with others. In the last few years as my practice has become more specialized, a common denominator is that many of my clients are exploring their brain style and its accompanying traits. Consequently, my ideal client is someone exploring how their ADHD, giftedness, and/or autism are impacting their school & work performance, their mental & physical health, and their relationships. Neurodiversity affirming therapy is a client-centered approach that recognizes the diversity of human experience and promotes acceptance, inclusion, and empowerment for individuals with neurological differences. As a result, my therapeutic approach is strengths-based, supportive, goal-oriented, and trauma-informed. As a systemic therapist, that means addressing diversity, gender, power, and other sociocultural dimensions is an inherent part of the work we will do together. My own lived experience combined with over a decade of working with neurodivergent individuals and their families allows me to bring unique perspective and empathy to the therapeutic space. You might like my style if you are craving- or even open to – exploration of your inner child, befriending your body, gaining emotional intelligence, and navigating healthier relationships.

Hi! My name is Katie (she/her), and I’m excited to work together. My goal is to help you feel safe, comfortable, and free to open up at your own pace. I believe our experiences—past and present—shape the way we think, feel, and move through life. By exploring and validating your thoughts and emotions, we can start to untangle patterns, make sense of what feels overwhelming, and work toward healing. I’m here to support you whether you’re navigating depression, anxiety, grief, body dysmorphia, sexual and gender identity issues, relationship/work stress, and/or chronic illness. Finding the right words to express what you’re feeling isn’t always easy, and that’s okay. Sessions are tailored to what feels right for you. We’ll draw from psychodynamic, somatic, creative arts, and other trauma-informed approaches. Empathy, warmth, and humor are central to my practice, creating a space where you can explore and grow. Currently, I’m an MSW student at Yeshiva University in New York City and hold an MA in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. I strongly believe that a safe, empathetic, non-judgmental environment is a place that fosters acceptance and growth. You may find yourself faced with life challenges that feel almost impossible to handle, and the need to have your thoughts and concerns heard and validated. I will walk with you on your journey to self-discovery and self-compassion, as well as provide you with the opportunity to find and apply your strengths to your daily life. We will work to identify and challenge any barriers to growth that may be holding you back from effectively navigating and tolerating the uncomfortable emotions and challenging situations that can arise unexpectedly. I use an eclectic approach to counseling tailored to my client and their needs. I believe that building trust between the client and counselor is of the utmost importance in a therapeutic relationship. I have experience working with a variety of clients with varying mental health needs such as eating disorders, body image concerns, depression, anxiety, adjustment to life changes, grief/loss, substance use/abuse, and trauma. I graduated from Georgia Gwinnett College with BS in Clinical Psychology in 2017 and from Mercer University with an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020. I also completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at Ebb and Flow Yoga, Spa, & Float in 2017. Greetings! Thanks for being curious enough to learn more about me and courageous enough to invest in yourself through counseling. My name is Dr. Zoe Johnson. I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Ph.D. in education. My clinical and research expertise is specifically with, for, and on behalf of Black and Brown folks. It is an honor to bear witness to the triumphs and challenges of one’s lived experience. It is a privilege to reflect back to people the knowing, solutions, resilience, and joy that is ALREADY in them but blurred or buried by oppression, false narratives, and/or any number of messages meant to undermine our wellness, joy, and…liberation. I stand with folks as they journey through life -- the evolutions, changes, transitions, and also the routine, ordinary, mundane – supporting their well-being through accessible and personalized counseling services. I help high-achieving folks overcome perfectionism, imposter syndrome, people-pleasing, and anxiety so they can cultivate & sustain the healed and healthy life that they deserve & desire. I am Black affirming and Queer affirming. I support the full and beautiful spectrum of sexual, gender, and relational orientations. As a clinical social worker, I draw from a strengths-based perspective. I practice ethical principles based on social work’s core values of service, social justice, dignity and worth, the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. I am pleased to provide an accessible, personalized, boutique counseling experience that supports your well-being. If anything that I’ve said here resonates with you and you feel we would make a good team, let’s get started! I’m confident that our work together can help you cultivate the beautiful life that you deserve. Peace, love, and abundant joy to you – Dr. Zoe Johnson

Marriage & Family Therapist
Stockbridge, GA

As a marriage and family therapist, the clients I work best with tend to share a few key characteristics. Many of them are looking for ways to improve their relationships, whether that means addressing issues with a spouse, family members, or even themselves. They often feel stuck or overwhelmed by the challenges they’re facing and are looking for guidance in creating healthier, more fulfilling connections. If you’re someone who wants to better understand yourself and your relationships, or if you’re facing communication struggles, trust issues, or simply trying to navigate life changes, my practice might be a great fit for you. You don’t have to go through these challenges alone — many people come to therapy seeking support in learning how to communicate more effectively, heal from past hurts, or find balance in their lives. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are motivated to make changes and improve their relationships. If you’re open to learning new tools and strategies to strengthen your connections with others, we might be a great match! Together, we’ll explore your experiences and find ways to move forward in a healthy, positive direction.
