NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. I works with young adults suffering from a wide range of mental health concerns. I takes an integrative approach to treatment by using evidence-based intervention and person-centered strategies specifically tailored to the clients’ individual needs in order to promote growth and meaningful change in clients. I am particularly interested in treating individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar and trauma-related issues. I aim to support clients with their mental health journey by incorporating principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, motivational interviewing, trauma informed therapy, and strength-based framework. In order to aid clients in their pursuit of living a healthier and happier life, I establish a genuine and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship by providing empathy, acceptance, validation and unconditional positive regard. I believe in the importance of creating a warm, safe, and supportive therapeutic space for effective healing to take place. I focus on treating individuals with respect and integrity when they are at their most vulnerable. I also have a passion for working with athletes. I value bringing mental health support to sports. I focus on the emotional wellbeing of high-performing athletes in order for them to reach the next level of performance. I help athletes build resiliency and navigate the troubles of playing sports, including managing perfectionism, preventing burnout, and building mental toughness. This passion for aiding high-performers blossomed at University of Central Arkansas’ Counseling Center where I worked directly with student-athletes providing individual counseling and support to multiple sports teams. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was an assistant coach for women’s soccer and lacrosse at Hendrix College where she was able to assist student-athletes on and off the field.

We live in a high-paced world, pulling us in all directions, leading us to feel burnt out and disconnected from other people. You might have become tired of the nagging stress, the strong emotions, the complexity of navigating relationships, or the feeling that something is holding you back from reaching your full potential. Despite all of this, a part of you wants to feel better and move forward. After all, that is why you are taking this major step of seeking help at this moment in your life. In my practice, I construct a safe therapeutic space where you can slow down and breathe. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all formula to address your unique history, personality, and concerns. Therefore, I take a holistic and integrative approach. I consider your difficulties, strengths, where you came from, where you are now, and where you want to be. By working together with clients, I help them cultivate emotional intelligence, deepen honest self-reflection, and increase their motivation to change. Most of my clients aim to reduce stress, improve human connection, and live more meaningful lives. If you are ready to start your journey towards wellness, email me to set up a free no-obligation brief consultation.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that creativity is a powerful tool for self-expression and healing. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore their emotions, break through barriers, and tap into their inner strength. Every person is unique, and my goal is to tailor my therapeutic techniques to meet the specific needs and preferences of each client. Expressive art therapy provides an alternative form of communication, particularly beneficial when traditional verbal expression may feel limiting. Artistic expression allows for the articulation of emotions, experiences, and narratives that may be challenging to express through words alone. The focus is on the process of creation rather than the end result, allowing for a more profound and authentic exploration of emotions.
I have over 30 years experience working clinically at MGH & in private practice and teaching at Harvard Medical School. "Henry Freud" is a calm, gentle, affectionate Black Lab who is eager to be part of your healing process. At Windward Mental Health in Dedham, we’re here for college students from the surrounding towns—think Wellesley College, Babson, Lasell University, or Regis College—who are navigating the chaos of student life while wrestling with mental health struggles. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is perfect for students like you—maybe a Wellesley undergrad feeling crushed by perfectionism, a Babson entrepreneur battling anxiety that’s tanking your focus, or a Lasell student quietly dealing with depression after a rocky semester. We connect best with those who are juggling classes, part-time jobs, or campus activities, but are hitting a wall with stress, mood swings, or even past tough experiences that keep creeping back. We thrive with students who want to tackle things like overwhelming worry, low energy, or habits they’ve picked up to cope—like too much drinking or scrolling—that aren’t helping anymore. You might be someone who’s sick of faking it through group projects or dorm hangouts, or who’s reeling from a big life shake-up, like losing a friend or failing a class you worked hard for. Our clients often just want to feel steady again—to get back to crushing that presentation, enjoying a night out, or even just sleeping without overthinking everything. Right off Route 128 in Dedham, we’re an easy trip from Needham, Westwood, or Newton, with a schedule that works around your college life—daytime sessions that let you still make that afternoon lecture or evening shift. Whether you’re the overachiever who’s burned out, the quiet one hiding how rough it’s been, or the social butterfly who’s lost your spark, our IOP gives you a judgment-free spot to figure it out with a team that gets what being a student around here is like. If you’re ready to take charge of your mental health and still keep your college groove, we’re here to help you feel stronger and more like yourself.

It’s getting harder everyday to keep up with life’s responsibilities. You’re exhausted all the time and can’t stop thinking about future meals or the parts of your body that you hate. You want to get help but you don’t know where to turn, and nobody seems to be talking about how prevalent these issues are in men. You’re not alone. Recent studies have shown that 25% of those diagnosed with an eating disorder are men, and that gay and bisexual men are at an even higher risk. Whether you spend hours everyday thinking about your body, limit yourself to a very strict diet, or find yourself purging after meals…I see you. I know it feels like you’re drowning and can’t find anything to hold on to. But I want you to know that recovery is possible for you. The journey to get there may be long with a lot of ups and downs, but you’re not someone who backs away from a fight. You have things worth living for - and you deserve to experience them with a sense of joy and freedom. I work best with clients who are ready to make changes in their life and believe therapy can be helpful. Ideal clients are looking to establish a long-term therapeutic relationship, have an idea of what to talk about in therapy, and come prepared to sessions and ready to work hard towards bettering themselves.

I work with young adults and adults who are struggling with a range of mental health concerns. I specialize in supporting individuals with eating disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related concerns. I take an integrative approach, tailoring evidence-based interventions to meet the client’s individual needs and drawing from my experience as both a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and licensed art therapist (ATR). I aim to help my clients achieve meaningful change with an eclectic combination including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), radically-open DBT, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and enhanced CBT, motivational interviewing, and art therapy, among others. Within this integrative framework, I hold a person-centered and trauma-informed lens and offer compassion, humor and directness to my clients. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is an essential foundation for growth and change, and I strive to create a space that is collaborative, warm, and accepting.
WIth over 25 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker, I have enjoyed working with young adults as they navigate many of life’s transitions. Listening to the stories of many students as they begin college or new chapters, I am aware of the “noise” that often contributes to self doubt and confusion. I specialize in navigating these challenges that often come with life transitions: the excitement as well as the uncertainty, anxiety, sadness and fears. I love to partner with college students to help reframe some of the thinking that leads to feeling stuck and feeling anxious. I support clients to trust and grow their inner resources and resilience while navigating the challenges as they face and transition to new life phases. Through a blend of empathy, active listening and evidence based techniques, I work to create a supportive space where clients can feel heard and they can safely explore their identities and feelings, manage stressors and develop coping strategies to thrive in a world that often feels unsettled.
