Do you struggle to initiate or complete tasks, stay organized, develop and maintain relationships, or regulate your emotions? These challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate them alone. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience, I specialize in ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, and perfectionism. I particularly enjoy working with college and graduate students as they navigate the unique challenges they are facing in this stage of their life. I use a warm, collaborative, and affirming approach that helps my clients build upon their unique strengths, while also helping them learn how to make successful adaptations to improve the quality of their life. Sessions are often skills-based to improve communication and interpersonal relationships, as well as planning, prioritizing, and time management. I enjoy helping to support people as they navigate through the many different waves of life. I help to create a warm, non judgmental, and supportive environment where clients are free to talk about their stories. I draw from a number of different treatment modalities, but most importantly, meet the client where they are at. While each individual's experience is unique, I regularly work with clients around topics related to anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, relationship concerns, sexuality, ADHD, life's transitions, familial conflict and many more. In this busy world, it can be difficult to make time to focus on your needs. Therapy provides a space to do so and share your story in a safe and non judgmental environment. Sessions are a time to practice self care, utilize your strengths, and develop tools that help you gain a better understanding of you. I would love to have the chance to work with you and hear your story. Currently, sessions are teletherapy based allowing you more flexibility to be in a familiar setting and join from any mobile or desktop device. I would love to help you with the process of learning more about you and develop the tools to navigate the many waves of life.

I know the therapy process can be daunting, which is why I take the time to get to know my clients and build trusting therapeutic relationships in order to help them get to their best self. I utilize several modalities in which I am trained and tailor them to best fit each client individually. I pride myself on being kind and caring while also assisting my clients with the small loving push they may need to get where they want to be.
Hello, my name is Jamie Stacy and I have been a counselor for over twenty years. I understand that seeking therapy takes strength and courage and it can be a transformative decision. I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings while working towards your personal goals. I believe in the power of therapy to foster personal growth and healing, and I look forward to accompanying you on your journey towards greater emotional well-being. Whether you are facing specific challenges or simply seeking greater self-understanding, I am here to help support you every step of the way!
Inside all the suffering you are experiencing at this time, you know who you are at heart. I want to help you work with unhealthy thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and return to yourself, a self that honors your core values. I am a compassionate therapist who provides goal-oriented therapy to adults dealing with anxiety, social anxiety disorder, depression, panic attacks, contamination and disgust OCD, trauma, complex family dynamics, and those working on long-term recovery from alcohol use disorder. Therapy should be goal-oriented and energizing! I am familiar with the most up-to-date therapy techniques from prior work in the Mass General Brigham healthcare system in Boston and training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, utilizing strategies from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT, ACT, and ERP (exposure and response prevention). I work with clients who are in Washington, DC, Massachusetts, and Virginia as I am licensed in all three locations and have lived and worked in all three. I look forward to supporting you on your journey! Please be aware that for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance I am only in network in Virginia.
It's ok to ask for help. But it's also ok to wonder if a therapist can really help you. It's true that I can't erase your past or instantly take away your pain (although I wish I could). However, I can help you carry your burdens more lightly, whether that means healing from trauma, finding closure from a relationship, or learning new ways of coping with depression and anxiety. I can offer you a new perspective on the issues that you are dealing with. You have struggled alone long enough. Therapy is your time to feel supported and understood. I have extensive experience treating a variety of issues (see list of specialties below). I use several therapeutic approaches including person-centered, strength-based, interpersonal, compassion focused, multicultural, and CBT. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach. We will work together to figure out the best approach for your individual needs. I know it's difficult to reach out to someone you hardly know and share struggles that are so deeply personal to you. I will offer you a safe space where you can just come as you are. Clients describe me as kind, caring, and nonjudgmental. Please contact me for a complimentary consultation to see if we might be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.
We have a range of therapists, in age and skill/training, who love to help young adults with questions around identity, trauma, addiction, anxiety. We want to support people in becoming healthier and happier, through creating sustainable change. https://katrinashepardlicsw.com/
Are you experiencing stress in your relationships and you want to build healthier ones? Maybe you find saying “no” to be impossible, you don’t feel heard by others, or you have a difficult time managing your emotions on top of typical college stressors. Perhaps past relationships, trauma, or negative experiences have impacted you. It can be so frustrating and isolating to focus on healing in order to build a better future. You don’t have to be alone in it. It is natural for people to get stuck throughout life, especially during transitions (and college is a big one!). I am here to help you adapt and reconnect with yourself. You want to reconnect with the version of you know have seemingly disconnected from. Reconnecting with things YOU enjoy and learning to put yourself first. Through building coping skills and in a safe and compassionate therapy space, together, we will work to build the best version of you. I find it important to be myself in therapy, whether this means swearing when appropriate, using humor, and connecting with my clients. If you would like to learn more about therapy with me, please reach out! I'd love to get to know you.

While we may not always have control over all aspects of our lives, we have control over how we choose to react, how we make meaning of our situation, and most importantly how we grow from the challenges presented to us. I work with adults throughout the lifespan, from young adults to older adults, in an individual and group therapy setting. I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, identity development, life transitions, and navigating relationships. I love working with clients who recognize the need for change in their lives and are motivated to work towards bettering their relationship with themselves and others. I utilize both psychodynamic (how the past influences the present) and interpersonal approaches (how relational patterns impact psychological well-being) to therapy. In addition, I also borrow from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)/Mindfulness to help build healthy coping strategies. I do not believe in a one size fits all therapy, but I do believe in two necessary factors: hope and a strong therapeutic relationship. Hope ignites the courage to take the first step towards change and the therapeutic relationship is the vessel in which the journey towards change takes place.
As a therapist, my goal is to build a trusting relationship with clients to empower them to achieve positive change in their lives and reach their therapeutic goals. I aim to provide a safe and judgement free environment to help clients explore their vulnerabilities and build confidence. I take a multidisciplinary approach to therapy to tailor to the needs of the client but my foundation is CBT. I have extensive training in motivational interviewing and positive psychology that I utilize during the process. I specialize working with anxiety, depression, trauma, military veterans, grief and loss, life transitions and life planning. You are the expert of your own life. I stride on building a safe and trusting environment to empower clients to take back control of their lives and feel confident doing so.

I spent the majority of my career as the on-site therapist at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, providing psychotherapy primarily with actors, filmmakers, writers and other visual and performing artists I work with a wide range of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, separation/individuation, bereavement, relationship concerns and LGBTQIA concerns, as well as the challenges particular to artists such as performance anxiety, career anxiety and writer's block.
You’re used to handling things. You’ve figured out how to succeed, meet deadlines, and show up for others — but lately it feels harder. Maybe anxiety is louder, your mood dips more often, or relationships feel strained. You don’t have to keep pushing through alone. Therapy can help you build steadiness, clarity, and more intentional choices in the middle of a demanding season. At Mind Field Therapy, I work with college students navigating anxiety, depression, identity shifts, relationship stress, and the impact of difficult life events or past trauma. I’ll absolutely ask how you’re feeling — and we’ll go deeper than that. I’m direct, grounded, and occasionally use humor when it helps us loosen anxiety’s grip. The goal isn’t endless venting; it’s understanding what’s driving the patterns and building tools you can actually use.
**Weekday, Evening and Weekend Appointments Available** **Now seeing clients in Massachusetts and New Mexico** Are you caught up in a seemingly endless cycle of addiction to alcohol or drugs? Well, I have good news and bad news for you. There’s no magic wand, no Abracadabra. Now the good news: The cycle doesn’t have to be endless. Recovery is possible! I have 25 years experience working in the addictions and mental health treatment field--in settings ranging from group homes to treatment centers. I also specialize in teaching coping skills for trauma and emotions that tend to drive us back to our addictive behaviors. My approach is eclectic, client-centered, empathic, and goal-directed. I can help you chart a path to sobriety and wellness, and to begin to address the underlying reasons behind self-defeating behaviors or troubling emotions in the here and now. I offer 60 minute sessions and specialize in half day therapy retreats. A therapy retreat is an efficient and comprehensive pathway to heal trauma in consecutive days instead of over many years in weekly therapy, and can accelerate symptom relief. I utilize evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Progressive Counting, and the Flash Technique to effectively heal the roots of distressing emotions and negative beliefs stored within traumatic memories. I bring my passion for somatic psychology, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and attachment theory to my therapeutic approach. I invite my clients to offer a gentle curiosity to all parts of themselves, so that together we may attune to what the body, heart, and spirit are most needing to restore wholeness. I offer Telehealth and in-person sessions at my Portland Old Port office. I welcome the opportunity to hear from you to determine if my services are a good fit for what you are seeking.
