Therapists for college students near 02138
I'm Erica, an experienced psychologist specializing in college-age mental health and sport psychology. I know college is A LOT and I have the utmost admiration for students. You're balancing what feels like a hundred different priorities and sometimes it can feel like it's all just way too much. I am passionate about providing empathic support and tangible tools to help students work through the challenging times that often come with the pressure-filled environment of college. I worked in multiple college counseling centers and athletic departments around the country prior to heading into private practice. I am licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire and offer telehealth appointments so clients can be located anywhere in those two states. I applaud you for taking this step to get support for whatever you are going through and I look forward to connecting with you!

My approach relies on a warm and trusting therapeutic relationship where we can safely engage in healing work. We will navigate the pains and challenges of today, while fostering an understanding of how the past has played a role - all while inclining toward a meaningful future. I will provide tools for immediate relief as needed to support this process. I often work with folks who are highly sensitive, feel different or misunderstood, have overwhelming emotions, struggle with relationships, have low self-esteem, are queer or questioning, or are seeking to develop identity, purpose, and meaning in life. I would love to talk to you more about how I work, hear about your goals for therapy, and answer any questions you might have. I look forward to hearing from you!
I work with Students at all leveles and my approach is both flexible and eclectic. I often use Brief Intermittent Therapy. I find that it works best for people to come in for a defined brief period of time (such as 6-8 weeks) and focus on one specific area that needs attention; the time in therapy is more concentrated and effective. When the need arises, I welcome clients back for a "tune up." My clinical work with students and families began in the early 1990’s. Much of my career has centered on helping kids in school settings. I also work with teachers and staff. I have successfully supported clients during times of crisis, transition, and struggle. I can help with anxiety, depression, peers, LGBTQ+ issues, and post-concussion support. I invite you to reach out and see if we would work well together. I am equally comfortable working via teletherapy or in-person therapy. My office is located in Harwich Center on Cape Cod. I'm happy to discuss what works best for you. The road to self discovery is scary, and you are taking the first steps in seeking out the right therapist for you. It’s an important investment and you want to make sure you find just the right connection. My approach is deeply personal. Working with each person to learn and identify how they are impacted by the stories of their life and their history. In doing so, we are able to bring out what is truly possible. I believe strongly in the power of our stories. From a very young age, we all start learning things about ourselves and our world. These “life lessons” start to turn into the stories we repeat to ourselves over and over again. They become who we are. Those stories are not always nice and they hold us back. But most importantly, they are often not true! They are the stories we created when we were young and we have retold them to ourselves over and over again in a weird game of telephone with one player.

I work best with high-functioning adults and students who seem put together on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out on the inside. Many are caregivers, first-generation professionals, or cycle-breakers navigating pressure, perfectionism, family expectations, or relationship stress. They’re thoughtful and motivated for growth. They want practical tools to manage stress and set boundaries, while also understanding deeper patterns that keep them stuck. If you’re tired of just surviving and ready to feel more grounded and intentional, we’ll likely be a good fit. Therapy with me is warm, culturally responsive, and focused on helping you build skills and create real, lasting change.
College can come with a lot of pressure - school, relationships, family expectations, and trying to figure out who you are becoming. Many of the college students and young adults I work with feel anxious, burnt out, stuck in overthinking, disconnected from themselves, or are navigating the impact of past trauma while doing their best to manage daily responsibilities. Hi, my name is Jasmin Mantilla Carrillo and I am a Master of Social Work clinical intern at Intrinsic Bloom Therapy. I enjoy working with college students and young adults experiencing anxiety, stress, and trauma. In our work together, we can explore what is coming up for you right now while building practical tools to help you manage stress, regulate emotions, and feel more grounded in your day to day life. I receive advanced training in psychotherapy and work under the close supervision of Chelsea Hepburn, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor at Intrinsic Bloom Therapy - meaning you are supported by both me and an experienced clinician throughout the therapy process. Intrinsic Bloom Therapy offers telehealth therapy for college students and young adults in Connecticut (CT) and Massachusetts (MA) and offers a sliding scale.

You often wish you felt better about yourself, didn't get so easily overwhelmed, and could handle conflict but aren’t even sure where to start. You’ve found yourself questioning if you should talk to someone. You’ve come to the right place! College life is full of changes and challenges. Even if they are good, changes can sometimes be more than we have bargained for and create a lot of stress and anxiety. Through their work with me, my clients have experienced feeling less overwhelmed by emotions, found effective ways to handle conflict with others (like roommates and partners), felt more connected/present, and gained more confidence in themselves. My clients describe me as welcoming, witty, direct, knowledgeable, and relatable. My style of therapy is very collaborative and conversational as I share tools that you can use in between our sessions. You can reduce the amount of anxiety you experience. At the very least, I can help you manage it in a different way that is less disruptive to you, your relationships, and achieving what you want to in school.
Hello - I'm Adrien (he/him)! My goal is to help you reach yours. I thrive working with those in the LGBTQIA+ community though happily work with anyone. Whether it's anxieties, changes in life, or sorting out identity, I'm happy to be a part of it!
In my work with individuals experiencing substance-related challenges, I have found that a direct, solution-focused approach is often effective in creating meaningful change. At the same time, it is important to explore and understand the underlying reasons substance use exists and the needs it is attempting to meet. I approach this work from a non-judgmental perspective that emphasizes acceptance and self-compassion. By helping clients understand these patterns and develop healthier thoughts, coping strategies, and behaviors, the goal is to support lasting change, greater self-acceptance, and improved overall well-being. My clinical style is direct and solution-focused. Since 2012, I have developed extensive experience in both medication-assisted treatment and community mental health settings. I have been a licensed clinician since 2015 and hold a Master’s degree in Counseling. My primary therapeutic approaches include MI, ACT and CBT/DBT From the first session, my goal is to begin an open and honest dialogue to better understand the client’s goals, needs, and personal style. I also encourage a collaborative process that is open to discussion and feedback. Together, we work to develop a thoughtful and purposeful course of treatment that supports mindfulness, meaning, and overall well-being.
Life is full of transitions, some of our own choosing, others imposed upon us. The challenges involved in life altering experiences can sometimes feel overwhelming and therefore catalysts for common symptoms of anxiety and depression. This is when therapy can be especially helpful. I offer compassionate, client centered services designed to meet the individual where they are at while incorporating a mindful approach toward treatment. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand, cope with and resolve current challenges at hand. I have 20 years of clinical experience working with adults, families, couples, children and adolescents. My areas of expertise include a dialectical, evidenced based approach in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, divorce, D.V., grief and loss, relational issues etc. Credentialed in a Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). I offer a variety of techniques in therapy while striving to build trust in the therapeutic relationship. These are likely to include dialogue, interpretation, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, reframing, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, self-monitoring exercises, exploring family of origin, attachment, systems theory, multicultural frameworks, oppression awareness etc.
I am currently scheduling patients for both in-person (PA/NJ) and telehealth (PA/NJ/MA) appointments. I welcome patients who are looking for medication management, therapy, a second opinion, or any combination of the above. My interests include diagnostic clarification of mood/anxiety/attention disorders, evaluation of young adults who may be seeking help for the first time, and treatment of substance use disorders that often present with other common diagnoses. I offer comprehensive treatment, taking into consideration not only whether a patient has a medical illness, but also discussing lifestyle, substance use, relationships and other factors that could be affecting an individual's mental health. When indicated, I may recommend the use of psychiatric medications in conjunction with therapy.
