Welcome to Meridian Psychotherapy Associates, we support the unique needs of college students. We understand that the college experience can be an exciting yet challenging time, filled with academic pressures, personal growth, and various transitions. Our goal is to provide a specialized and nurturing environment where college students can find solace, understanding, and guidance as they navigate this critical phase of their lives. Our approach to individual therapy for college students is anchored in a deep understanding of the issues they commonly encounter. We address a wide range of concerns, including stress management, anxiety, depression, academic pressures, time management, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and more. Our trauma-informed therapists are skilled in helping college students cope with the complexities of their academic, social, and emotional worlds. For college students in committed relationships, we offer couple therapy to support them in fostering healthy communication, resolving conflicts, and strengthening their bonds. We recognize that maintaining a healthy relationship while attending college can be demanding, and our couple therapy sessions are tailored to address the unique challenges couples may face during this phase of life. We also offer adult family therapy, recognizing that family dynamics can play a significant role in a college student's well-being. Our family therapy sessions provide a safe space to explore and resolve familial conflicts, improve communication with parents and siblings, and foster a supportive environment for personal growth and development. To enhance accessibility and flexibility, we offer both in-office and telehealth services. We understand that college schedules can be demanding and unpredictable, so our telehealth option allows students to receive therapy conveniently from their dorms, apartments, or any private space. At Meridian Psychotherapy, we prioritize the mental health and well-being of college students. Our licensed therapists are not only skilled clinicians but also empathetic allies who genuinely care about the success and happiness of our student clients. We recognize the importance of providing a confidential and non-judgmental space for students to share their concerns and explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Our commitment goes beyond therapy sessions, as we strive to empower college students with coping skills and resources they can carry forward throughout their academic journey and beyond. We work collaboratively with students, empowering them to overcome challenges, develop resilience, and build a strong foundation for their future. If you are a college student seeking support and growth during this transformative time, we encourage you to take the first step towards better mental health. Reach out to us for a consultation, and let us be a part of your journey towards personal and academic success. Together, we can navigate the college experience with strength, confidence, and resilience.
I am a clinical psychologist with 15 years’ experience working with clients in a variety of settings and presenting with a wide range of diagnoses and concerns including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, workplace issues, relationship issues, perinatal mood disorders, parent child attachment difficulties, and parenting challenges. I have worked with children, adolescents, college students and adults. one of my practice areas focuses on providing therapy to college and graduate students. While this can be an exciting and inspiring time, there are many factors (identity issues, social anxiety, academic pressures, relationship problems, ect) that can also make it a challenging time to navigate. I use my clinical experience in college settings and in private practice to help college students process feelings and develop coping skills so they can feel more competent and confident. My years of experience has taught me that the fit between a therapist and the client is a significant factor in whether a client feels their therapy is helpful. I use my intuition to tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual client so that we both feel that we are moving forward in a way that feels supportive and productive.
College is a stressful time full of academic demands and social obligations, and everyone needs a space where they can focus on themselves. Clients that work with me are often experiencing big life changes, may be showing signs of stress and burnout, or might be noticing challenges popping up in their relationships. I work to form a strong therapeutic relationship with clients in which they can feel comfortable openly expressing their emotions, work through challenges, or just learn more about who they are. I welcome any client who is looking for a therapeutic space of their own, whether they have years of therapy under their belt or are reaching out for the first time!

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, offering individual psychotherapy to adults who may find themselves stuck, dissatisfied, or overwhelmed. I am committed to helping my clients live more meaningful and authentic lives. I am skilled in the use of empirically supported treatments for psychological problems and I employ these strategies flexibly, with the goal of tailoring each client's treatment to his/her/their individual concerns and unique history. I received my Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I completed my clinical training at the Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. I've also completed two post-graduate fellowships in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I consider myself a generalist, with particular expertise in young adult mental health. In addition to my private practice, I am a faculty member in the clinical psychology doctoral program at William James College. I truly enjoy working collaboratively with patients seeking help to gain insight, make changes in how they cope with stress and emotions, alter stuck patterns in their lives, and learn new, more effective ways to relate interpersonally. I would love to meet you and see if we can connect to improve whatever has been causing you pain or struggle. You may be dealing with everyday stresses of college life and demands, adjustment to a new college environment, complicated or traumatic family history, or trying to achieve relief or remain stable with significant diagnoses such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, mild to moderate eating disorders, and emotional intensity. I have extensive experience treating survivors of trauma. These experiences can lead to an array of difficulties including PTSD, dissociation, anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation. I am experienced at working with any of these problems/diagnoses and more. I work with each person individually to identify treatment goals and decide what approach might be the best fit. I tend to integrate treatment models in my thinking and practice, with intensive training completed in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and advanced training in psychodynamic treatment. My style is warm and non-judgmental, sensitive, deeply caring, and very appreciative of humor and creativity- these are incredible human resources. I look forward to meeting you and hope we can forge an important supportive relationship that also provides change and promotes growth in these pivotal years.
