Therapists for college students near Boston, MA
I work with couples, families, and individuals to get back in touch with their authentic self and be in alignment with their values, and have more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. I work with folks who have experienced relational trauma who often struggle in relationships and can feel overwhelmed with their experiences and emotions. I believe that everyone has the capacity for healing and deserves a fulfilling joyful life. I am passionate about working with anybody who has adoption as part of their story, as well as families, couples and individuals who are part of blended, expansive or step families. I believe that therapy can offer a safe container to process emotions around past hurt and shame as well as the many joys in life. I create this by offering a warm, relational environment where all the parts of you are welcome with curiosity and compassion. I utilize an eclectic approach and welcome feedback, so you feel centered in the process. It can be overwhelming and scary to begin this process, I appreciate the courage you have for beginning. Finding a therapist that is good fit is so important, if you feel like I could support you in your journey of healing and growth please reach out for a consultation and let's see if we're a good fit.
I have worked with people of all backgrounds but I generally work with women and the LGBT community. I work with clients on self-esteem, body positivity, anxiety management, trauma symptoms, and relational issues. As a human and a provider, I am feminist, anti-racist, fat positive, sex positive, pro-science, pro-vaccine, and pro-LGBT. My approach is varied depending on the individual's history with treatment. For people new to therapy, it may be helpful to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT involves looking at thoughts patterns and behaviors that may be creating obstacles in your life and setting up appropriate coping skills to address those issues. For people who come to therapy for the purpose of processing trauma, a trauma-informed, relational approach is necessary. For people who are looking to gain understanding about how their past intersects with their present behaviors, insight oriented therapy would be the best approach. I am not a "Listen and Nod" therapist. I will actively listen, provide you with feedback and analysis, and be open with you about your diagnosis, prognosis, and any treatments indicated. With full transparency, I say that I am not a validation-only therapist. Some folks want a therapist who will listen and validate without providing feedback or analysis. That is not my style. I will, however, work with you to figure out exactly how you can benefit from therapy.
I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to process memories, thoughts and feelings. There are long, lost fears and often past traumas at play in all of us. Some surface, wreaking havoc with our lives. They can appear as grief, depression, anxiety or crisis. Others remain dormant and can surface at all the wrong times. You may appear successful, but despite your accomplishments, you are not happy or it seems like others are happier than you. Your personal relationships are not satisfying in the way you expect. Why is happiness still elusive? We can dislodge what is blocking your best life and guide you to a healthier self. We will guide you to new understandings, new behaviors and new ways of being that will lead you to a happier self. You can reduce the anxiety and depression. You can disarm the trauma and grief that has made the days so uncomfortable. I provide a safe, empathetic environment for change. Call to book an appointment or consultation.
I often work with students who want help with anxiety, depression, self esteem, sleep disorders, and relationship issues.

Many people seek out psychotherapy to decrease unwanted experiences; to feel less depressed, feel less anxious, etc. While I work with clients to address these concerns, I also help to identify what we can increase together. What are your values? How can we work together to add more to your life consistent with those values? As a solo practitioner, I deliberately maintain a small client caseload to ensure I am fully able to attend to my clients’ needs. My areas of expertise include treatment of depression, anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties in adults. As a university professor, I genuinely enjoy working with college students. I believe in a collaborative approach to psychotherapy. I place a high premium on the therapeutic relationship, and work to tailor my interventions to my clients’ goals and preferences. I tend to use a relational style to help identify interpersonal patterns and supplement this approach with behavioral strategies in the service of your values. I recognize that your time and money are valuable, and I believe in regular and open communication about what is and is not working in psychotherapy. I regularly incorporate routine outcomes measures in therapy to ensure that our work together is on track with your goals and to change our approach together if it is not.
Therapy is a unique opportunity to work together to help you navigate life's challenges in a safe and supportive environment. I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship/dating challenges, life transitions, substance misuse, body image concerns, and disordered eating/eating disorders.

Or maybe you’re struggling with your relationships with others or your relationship with yourself? You are not alone and things can get better. Together we will work on replacing the behaviors and thoughts that are not serving you with positive strategies that can lead to a happier, healthier and more productive life. I will provide a supportive, nonjudgemental and caring space that will encourage self-awareness, resiliency building, and vulnerability while we work together to take on each challenge. I am a strengths-based, client centered therapist who works with numerous therapy modalities in order to find the best fit for you. Just as each person is unique, my belief is that therapy should be the same, with each session being tailored to your individual needs. I take a collaborative approach to therapy because it is important that you have a voice.
Hello! I am a LMHC who specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing family conflict, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. I am deeply passionate about this work because I believe everyone deserves to feel accepted, heard, and given the opportunity to learn more about themselves. (Thank you for reading my bio, but most importantly–thank you for wanting to take care of yourself.)
The students I connect with most are curious about themselves and want to understand not just what they feel, but why. Many seem capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside — struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, friendship or dating struggles, or a harsh inner critic. Some notice the same patterns repeating or feel unsure of who they are and what they want. If you’re ready to look a little deeper, we’ll likely be a good fit. I offer a steady, supportive space to explore the inner stuff you’ve been carrying around. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a sense of humor to our work, helping therapy feel human, relatable, and sometimes even a little fun. I use talk therapy as our foundation, and when it’s a good fit, I may also bring in EMDR, a well-researched approach that helps your brain process difficult experiences — whether from the past or present — so they feel less intense and less triggering. I also draw from practical skills, mindfulness, and self-exploration tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control — ready to move through college with greater clarity, self-trust, and maybe even a few laughs along the way.
Therapy can be a great tool, regardless of what you might be going through in life. I understand that each person's story is unique and, therefore, so is his or her therapeutic experience. I am a psychotherapist and coach who will work with you to develop strategies for overcoming barriers in your life. I believe it's very important to have a good connection and rapport with your therapist. Due to this, I work to create a comfortable and safe environment to allow for progress and growth. I have nearly a decade of clinical experience working with clients in a variety of clinical settings. I have successfully treated individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship problems, work/school stress, and difficult life transitions.
I am a Harvard-trained psychiatrist in private practice in Massachusetts. I offer telehealth medication management and therapy for adult patients. I work with a broad range of demographics and diagnoses, but I have particular expertise in anxiety disorders, including stress/burnout, panic, OCD, and PTSD. I'm not currently doing ADHD evaluations. In general, my style is collaborative, patient, and non-directive: the focus is on understanding your experience, rather than rushing toward a quick fix. Please reach out if you have any questions—I'm happy to learn more about you and discuss my style of care.

College can be exciting, overwhelming, and everything in between. I specialize in working with college and graduate students who are navigating anxiety, academic stress, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and the pressure to “have it all figured out.” Whether you’re adjusting to campus life, managing perfectionism, struggling with motivation, or feeling stuck, therapy can be a space to slow down and make sense of what you’re carrying. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and practical. You are the common denominator in your life, my aim is to help you navigate and understand the deeper patterns that shape your experience. My role is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move through this time in your life with more clarity and confidence.
I believe the greatest gift a therapist can offer is full presence with a compassionate ear. Many of my clients have sought therapy because something that was working for them was no longer working, or they noticed patterns in their lives that they wanted to change. Many felt unseen, unheard, and stuck in relationships. Some noticed patterns of anxiety or anger impact their relationship with others or their work. Some were experiencing family estrangement, contemplating cutoff, or processing the loss of a loved one. Whatever it is that brings you to our therapy space, I want you to walk away from a session having felt that I was with you on the other side, to make sense of things when nothing was making sense. Give yourself permission to be here as you are. What we acknowledge and admit to another becomes more real, and you matter. In our therapy space, even if you take your shoes off at the door, you can bring your whole self. I work with clients whose journey to therapy has been filled with ingenious ways to make due with what they have. Many find a major life transition (relationship, career, moving, school) challenging their current tools. Using attachment-based, somatic, and mindfulness-based therapies, we learn to slow down--to feel and then deal. To see where we may be unskillfully expending resources and how to reclaim them. Using an integrated-brain approach that values insight but doesn't stop there, I equip clients with an understanding of themselves in both their verbal and somatic narrative. As a social work-trained therapist, I strive to ensure that our therapeutic relationship is a refuge from larger systemic harm and trauma. I invite you to bring with you your current resources, social location, and values that you have inherited from your family of origin, ancestors, and communities. Please feel free to contact me for a free 20 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit together.
Navigating challenges in our daily lives can seem overwhelming especially when dealing with the echoes of past trauma. Seeking support is a courageous step, and you don’t have to face this journey alone.
