Therapists for college students near Harvard University
Hello! Thank you for checking out my profile. My biggest priority as a therapist is building a relationship based on partnership, empowerment, and client-identified strengths. It is important to me that clients feel safe and free to be their whole selves in sessions. I enjoy working with individuals who are in the LGBTQIA+, neuro-divergent, and/or disability communities and am specialized in mood regulation, stress reduction, focus and attention, social skills, harm-reduction, and self-esteem challenges.
Life is full of transitions, some of our own choosing, others imposed upon us. The challenges involved in life altering experiences can sometimes feel overwhelming and therefore catalysts for common symptoms of anxiety and depression. This is when therapy can be especially helpful. I offer compassionate, client centered services designed to meet the individual where they are at while incorporating a mindful approach toward treatment. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand, cope with and resolve current challenges at hand. I have 20 years of clinical experience working with adults, families, couples, children and adolescents. My areas of expertise include a dialectical, evidenced based approach in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, divorce, D.V., grief and loss, relational issues etc. Credentialed in a Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). I offer a variety of techniques in therapy while striving to build trust in the therapeutic relationship. These are likely to include dialogue, interpretation, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, reframing, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, self-monitoring exercises, exploring family of origin, attachment, systems theory, multicultural frameworks, oppression awareness etc.
Therapy is a transformative journey towards growth, self-discovery, and lasting change. Taking the first step towards seeking help can be challenging, but with the right therapist, profound transformation is within reach. As a trauma-informed therapist specializing in women's emotional health, I focus on supporting individuals dealing with trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and substance use. My approach centers on fostering healing, resilience, and empowerment. Together, we cultivate self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, and nurture personal growth in a safe, non-judgmental environment. I’m a relational therapist who is passionate about creating a comfortable, non-judgmental space where clients can truly be themselves. My approach emphasizes building a strong therapeutic relationship and empowering clients to heal and grow at their own pace. I understand how challenging life’s difficulties can be, and I’m here to support you in every step. Whether you’re navigating life changes, stress, trauma, anxiety, or interpersonal conflict, I’m here to help you develop tangible skills that you can take with you into the difficult moments of life. If you’re ready to take the first step, I invite you to reach out and learn more. I’m here for you.
I help folks ages 18+ in NY, CT, OR, and FL who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships, and life transitions. I am a compassionate and nonjudgmental therapist who prioritizes creating a space in which my clients feel “held,” heard, and helped. My approach is personalized, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. My practice is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and utilizes a range of techniques including awareness of sensations in the body, narrative interventions, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal and that meaningful transformations take place in the context of safe and supportive relationships, when we feel seen, understood, and accepted unconditionally. Together, we will process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences to reduce suffering and increase joy, fulfillment, and success. The bottom line: I meet you where you are—with patience, warmth, kindness, and insight. I will assist in identifying and strengthening your own inner resources and wisdom, so we can work more effectively with challenges and pain on the road to a more satisfying life. You don’t have to do this alone.

I'm Erica, an experienced psychologist specializing in college-age mental health and sport psychology. I know college is A LOT and I have the utmost admiration for students. You're balancing what feels like a hundred different priorities and sometimes it can feel like it's all just way too much. I am passionate about providing empathic support and tangible tools to help students work through the challenging times that often come with the pressure-filled environment of college. I worked in multiple college counseling centers and athletic departments around the country prior to heading into private practice. I am licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire and offer telehealth appointments so clients can be located anywhere in those two states. I applaud you for taking this step to get support for whatever you are going through and I look forward to connecting with you!
As a therapist, I partner with you to make sense of your story. Through this work, we often discover together that what’s happening for you in the present makes perfect sense given what you’ve lived through so far and the forces that have shaped you. With this understanding, you can more easily access softness toward yourself and others, and even find other ways of being. I primarily practice from relational psychodynamic and trauma perspectives, drawing from neurodevelopmental, family systems, and body-based frames as appropriate. As a social worker, I am attuned to the ways that systems of power and oppression contribute to experiences of mental health.
Psychiatry and primary care stand at the heart of holistic healthcare, combining the expertise of mental and physical well-being to treat the whole person. In today’s world, where the complexities of life often challenge both the mind and body, the integration of psychiatry and primary care is more essential than ever. This collaboration not only addresses physical ailments but also recognizes the profound impact mental health has on overall wellness. By bridging the gap between emotional and physical care, psychiatry and primary care create a comprehensive approach, empowering individuals to lead healthier, more balanced lives. Together, they offer hope, healing, and the opportunity for every person to achieve their full potential, mentally and physically.
At Hive Health, we believe healing is not one‑size‑fits‑all. Whether you’re a medical student carrying the weight of burnout, a young adult navigating life transitions, or a teen exploring your identity, you deserve care that sees the whole you. Like a hive, our well‑being is interconnected. When one part struggles, the whole system feels it. That’s why our approach is trauma‑informed, holistic, and culturally humble, addressing not just symptoms, but the deeper roots of stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout.
Life can be overwhelming. There are many things to address, or things we want to work on, but we often don’t know where to start. You don’t have to figure out it all out overnight. You don’t have to feel ashamed for being where you are. All you have to focus on is one small thing you can do today to get closer to where you want to be in life. I provide a therapeutic space to explore struggles in a relaxed manner. You take the lead, I am a supporting role. I offer different perspectives, brainstorming ideas, coping strategies, & practicing what you want to improve. Working for almost 10 yrs. has trained me in numerous styles of therapy, so I think outside the box & pull from various strategies to help you find the right tools for your situation. Online Only. I am a licensed clinical social worker with many years of experience working with adults, adolescents, children, and families. I know that change is hard and seeking support is brave. My approach aims to be relational, strength-based, and trauma-informed. I strive to bring empathy, humor, and a nonjudgmental approach to the therapy space to support you in your journey. I use an integrative, holistic approach that pulls from different therapeutic specialties that we will tailor specifically to your identified wants and needs - such as narrative therapy, family systems, mind-body connection, solution-focused, and emotion and person-centered.
I am currently scheduling patients for both in-person (PA/NJ) and telehealth (PA/NJ/MA) appointments. I welcome patients who are looking for medication management, therapy, a second opinion, or any combination of the above. My interests include diagnostic clarification of mood/anxiety/attention disorders, evaluation of young adults who may be seeking help for the first time, and treatment of substance use disorders that often present with other common diagnoses. I offer comprehensive treatment, taking into consideration not only whether a patient has a medical illness, but also discussing lifestyle, substance use, relationships and other factors that could be affecting an individual's mental health. When indicated, I may recommend the use of psychiatric medications in conjunction with therapy.
I enjoy working with students who need support in adjusting to all the changes that school inherently comes with leaving home, performance anxiety, finding your people, dating, friends, study habits, getting ready to graduate and finding your next move etc. And through all of this, sometimes there is anxiety, depression, or trauma that makes all of the adjustments more difficult. Therapy can help you sort through all of that so that you have a clear mind and feel more at ease in life. Reach out to me today to schedule a free 15 minute consult to see if we are a match, it's important that you feel a connection with your therapist. Feel free to e-mail me at katieobrienlicsw@gmail.com to get things started. Visit my website or my psychology today profile for more information as well.

As humans, we all have the capacity for change. At some point, we are confronted with challenging life situations and may respond in ways that do not align with our values. Part of our work in therapy can be towards examining the "why" and making positive adaptations. Therapy can be used as a tool to examine difficult patterns and develop fresh perspectives over time. This work requires much vulnerability and I am here to listen and align in the direction of your own personal breakthroughs. Join me as we work together to create a grounded and inclusive space for reflection, transparency, and self-compassion as you learn to navigate the highs, lows, and unpredictability that life brings. My therapeutic approach is anything but one-size-fits-all. I draw from my strengths-based and trauma-informed training while integrating spontaneity, creativity, and humor when welcomed. I recognize that successful treatment varies with an individuals unique needs, strengths, and preferences. I offer myself as a collaborative and empathic presence and genuinely believe that anyone can make deeper connections within themselves and to their surroundings.
