Hi there! My name is Justice, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in the State of North Carolina. I was drawn to this profession because of the experiences I have faced in my own life. My passion is working alongside of adolescents, young adults, and new moms as they transition through the seasons of life.. My goal when working with clients is to cultivate a therapeutic relationship by offering an accepting, safe space to be your authentic self to share, learn, and heal. I enjoy processing with young adults through anxiety, stress-management, generational/childhood trauma, depression, relationships issues, and life transitions. My therapy style is holistic, and I use a combination of therapeutic approaches and interventions to help meet your needs. I strongly believe that everyone can acquire skills needed to fulfill life goals and overcome challenges; but sometimes a guide is needed to address patterns of behaviors and problematic thinking. If you like to learn more, take the first step towards hope and healing, you are worth it!

As social beings, people need the contact and acceptance of other people. It is not uncommon for people to experience things that disrupt or unravel their lives, and they feel they have no one to turn to who understands or accepts them. Whether this experience is anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, or trauma, my passion is to help individuals find healthy ways of coping and processing the events in their lives. As well as helping people connect with others in more meaningful ways. As everyone is different, I feel there is no single therapeutic approach that works for everyone. Because of this, I have sought training in multiple therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My educational background includes an M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. My Clinical internship was spent in a substance abuse/mental health facility in South Florida, where I worked with military and veteran clients. Before my degree, I enlisted in the United States Airforce and was trained as a Medical Technician/EMT.

I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety and childhood trauma. I have clinical experience across crisis intervention, substance use treatment, and outpatient therapy settings, working with individuals experiencing acute distress as well as ongoing mental health concerns. My approach is grounded in the belief that unresolved trauma can significantly influence emotional regulation, self-concept, and interpersonal functioning. Clients often seek treatment when they feel “stuck,” overwhelmed, or notice persistent patterns related to past experiences that interfere with daily functioning, relationships, or goal attainment. I provide a supportive, structured therapeutic environment where clients can explore these concerns, develop insight, and work toward sustainable change. I utilize evidence-based modalities including Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Treatment focuses on increasing self-awareness, processing traumatic experiences, addressing maladaptive thought and behavior patterns, and strengthening coping skills. Therapy is collaborative and tailored to each client’s clinical needs and treatment goals. I welcome individuals seeking to engage in therapy to address anxiety, trauma-related concerns, and personal growth.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I'm committed to providing compassionate and effective support to individuals, couples, and families. My approach combines a blend of empathy, humor, and energy to create a safe and engaging therapeutic environment. I received my MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2009 and have since worked mostly in community mental health. Working mostly with women on body image, self-esteem, and finding your authentic self in a sea of people is my passion. I'm excited to move more fully into working with women in transitional spaces of life looking for support and validation about their desires and next steps. Showing up to therapy takes a lot of courage and trust. I want to help you feel as comfortable as possible telling your story to a total stranger; I usually do this with humor and silliness. Your story is important so our first session is also about me getting to know you, what brought you to therapy (the straw that broke the camels back), and what parts of your history might be linked to what brought you in today. My approach is humanistic, relational and trauma-informed. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is the foundation for growth. Within that safe and compassionate container, I use somatic practices, expressive arts, play, movement and narrative techniques to help people access deeper truths. Spiritual and esoteric elements can also be woven in. *Please book an intro session through my website. All billing goes through my Headway website as well. Thank you!

Chris McGinn is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and/or career and education transitional issues. It is Chris’ goal to create a safe, accepting, and comfortable environment to allow you, the client, to grow in self-awareness and self-acceptance. This begins by forming a mutually desirable relationship and bringing focus to your counseling sessions by setting goals that will be re-assessed throughout the counseling process. Chris's general counseling approach is based on the Humanistic perspective, which helps you develop a stronger, healthier sense of self and access and understand your feelings to help gain a sense of meaning in life. Chris utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based approach to help you become your best self: the person you'd be if you just weren't so tired, so anxious, so angry, or so depressed. He believes your work together is to challenge the reasons you feel that way in the first place so you can move past them and start feeling happier, more productive, and more connected to the life you want. He incorporates modalities such as art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, experiential therapy, play therapy, existential, and trauma-focused therapy in sessions. Chris feels that a client-therapist relationship based on trust and acceptance is the most important element of successful therapy.
