I've had meaningful experience working with patients struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. These challenges often overlap and can show up as feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or not quite like yourself. I focus on helping patients understand what they're experiencing, such as differentiating intrusive thoughts from more severe conditions, which often reduces fear and improves engagement in treatment. I also work well with individuals who feel stuck in cycles of rumination, avoidance, or emotional dysregulation, helping them build insight and develop more effective ways to cope and function day to day. I’m most passionate about making mental healthcare more approachable, especially for LGBTQ+ individuals and underserved communities who often face added barriers, stigma, or lack of access to care. I find it meaningful to create a space that feels safe, affirming, and non-judgmental, where people can be fully themselves. My hope is that you feel comfortable being honest, even about things that are hard to say, and that over time you gain a clearer understanding of yourself, feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions, and build confidence in navigating your life.

I help adults get back to living their lives – no matter what thoughts and feelings might be hanging around. Does it feel like lately your thoughts, emotions, urges, and impulses are running the show? Do they jerk you around, become the boss, and pull you away from the life you want to live? Do you spend so much time trying to manage your anxiety, or your insomnia, or protect yourself from pain that your life has shrunk? Whether it’s racing thoughts that keep you up all night, or dread that keeps you away from your old hobbies and good friends, or a diagnosis you were handed with little to no support – I’m here for you. Let’s get YOU and your deepest values running the show again – so that you can build a satisfying and vibrant life. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and focus primarily on health psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and biofeedback. This means that I have in-depth knowledge about how the mind and body influence each other and how to move towards a healthier, calmer baseline in your day-to-day life. I use a variety of skills to help reduce the power of exhausting thoughts and feelings, improve your ability to relax, figure out what matters most to you, and learn to relate to pain, worry, sleeplessness, and other struggles in new ways. A large part of treatment includes education about pain, anxiety, the nervous system, and mindfulness - all of which can have a positive impact on mental health and well-being. As a neuroscience geek, I can get really excited about new research and I love to share this with my patients. On a more personal note: I have been where you are right now. You are not alone.
I am passionate about guiding clients on their journey to be their better self. I utilize a person-centered, trauma informed, and empowerment approach when working with clients. It is important for clients to have access to a therapist who looks like them and/or is understanding of their cultural experiences. As a Black clinician that identifies as a cisgender woman, I prioritize working with Black clients in general and Black women and LGBTQI+ persons in particular. I strive to help clients re-reparent their inner child to heal childhood wounds, create boundaries to reduce anxiety, and explore emotions to better understand self. I always show up as my authentic self; and, I want you to feel comfortable to show up as your authentic self. My time with you will be dedicated to you having that session time to learn, be, and grow into your full self. Your session is a time to explore emotions, relationship patterns, coping skills, and ways to solve barriers/problems in your life. My goal is to assist individuals from marginalized communities navigate oppression, micro/macro aggressions, trauma, and lack of understanding from others. In addition, my goal is to work collaboratively with you to heal, restore, and empower yourself. We will work on creating your goals and treatment together. Be prepared to show up and do the work. :)

I specialize in supporting young adults and college students struggling with trauma, C-PTSD, interpersonal concerns, and anxiety. I find having a deep understanding of your own story helps you to feel more secure in your identity, equipped to face your challenges, and grounded in your life. Getting to know your story in all its messy, beautiful, and complicated parts is where our therapeutic relationship will begin. I utilize an integrative approach to counseling using Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS), Person-Centered, Realtional, Psychodynamic, & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Based on how our relationship develops, I will pull from these theories to best support our work together depending on your needs. Through these modalities, we can help you stand authentically in your story, in all of its parts, and feel empowered in continuing it. Sharing your life with a stranger can feel vulnerable, risky, and uncertain. My goal is to help you feel, heard, seen, and empowered in the counseling space so that I can meet you where you are and help you attain your goals.

Let’s be honest. Underneath that polished veneer, the cracks are starting to show. You’ve tried handling them yourself, because that’s who you are – independent, resourceful, and always able to take care of yourself. But the spackle is breaking. Who are you if not that characterization of success, living up to the expectations set by your parents, friends, and middle school basketball coach? Maybe those cracks are the result of you running full speed against a wall, again and again. If you’re ready to find another way around the wall, I'm your person. Let’s be honest. Learning how to navigate life as a young adult is hard! You are trying to balance the demands of work or school, family, and friends, all while figuring out who you are and who you want to be. As a driven and successful individual, you may put a lot of pressure on yourself and feel constrained by your own expectations. This can lead to constant self-doubt and feeling like you're always reaching for an unattainable (or unrealistic) goal. You may be overextending yourself to others, and not focusing on yourself. Perhaps you have negative thought patterns or behaviors that are causing discomfort or you don't always understand your reactions. Virtual therapy can help. Let's work together to discover the barriers that are keeping you from finding balance in your life - taking care of yourself and setting boundaries is not selfish!
I strive to help people understand their emotional and behavioral patterns and work towards behaviors that can generate meaning and purpose. The evidence-based therapies that I use help treat OCD, trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, eating disorders, and more. I utilize an empathic and nonjudgmental stance, and aim to compassionately recognize the function of behaviors, and why they might make sense in the past and present. The evidence-based practices I use will include learning skills to help foster more flexible and effective responses to painful and difficult thoughts and feelings. I firmly believe in tailoring treatment to meet your unique needs and goals, and believe our collaboration and therapeutic relationship is essential in this process. My hope is that together we can create a space where you can relate differently to painful thoughts and feelings and create change in their presence.
I work with high-functioning accomplished adults and college students who suffer from anxiety, depression, and trauma-related discomfort. Although my clients have generally achieved success and stability through their careers and academic accomplishments, they have become alienated from their need for connectedness and authentic relationships. This alienation commonly expresses itself as free-floating anxiety, and/or troubling interpersonal relationships (such as unsatisfying romantic relationships, toxic friendships, or workplace conflict). The roots of these experiences are often found in maladaptive coping mechanisms that worked for my clients earlier in life but limit them in the present. I help my clients reflect on their interpersonal relationships, focusing on how clients unconsciously cultivate relationships into re-enactments of painful earlier experiences. I also guide clients through the exploration of their relationships with themselves, identifying negative self-talk and self-sabotaging behaviors that hold them back from achieving their goals and experiencing profound satisfaction. Further, I use my human resources experience to coach patients through workplace conflicts/conflict resolution, communication roadblocks, and time management challenges. Bringing these various elements together, I guide my patients to live a life that is more satisfying and meaningful. I also help clients who have suffered through trauma (including intergenerational trauma) process painful material using EMDR.
