As a mental health professional backed by five years of social work experience in trauma-heavy fields, I understand the complexity of how harm affects the mind and body. Now, through compassion and collaboration, I am committed to helping adolescents and adults face systemic and interpersonal challenges by utilizing a holistic approach to mental health care. Guided by a belief in dignity, I practice cultural humility, which helps me be respectful and open to other worldviews and to patients with experiences vastly different from mine. I look forward to meeting you where you are and seeing how we can make your reality work best for you. My focus is on trauma-informed care, a psychospiritual framework, and meaning-making in people's lives. You'll notice I often ask what brings you joy, incorporating that into our work together while holding space to recognize where there is dissonance in your life, how two or more things can be true at once, and what that means for your experience and relationships. I value facing fear with compassion and patience, holding immense respect for people courageous enough to ask for help, along with a belief that it is okay not to be okay. Throughout our time together, you can expect a calm, collaborative, and empowering environment tailored to your unique goals. Using a strengths-based perspective, and knowing that you are the expert on your own experience, I help you recognize what you have accomplished, even in the toughest of your struggles, and how those strengths can continue to grow. My path to becoming a therapist was unexpected: my original plan was to become a member of the clergy, and I have honored spirituality through work in interfaith ministry. Through social work, I discovered I enjoy helping people heal and grow more than leading them, which is what ultimately drew me away from that path. It started by working with people experiencing homelessness and then in residential care for students with behavioral disabilities before being drawn back to school to pursue therapy. My diversity in my professional career has led to a deep commitment to providing care that honors the whole person and is judgment-free in each session. I enjoy hiking, swimming, and biking in nature; mountains and rivers speak to my soul. I appreciate art, but know nothing about it – I just like to look. One of my more unique hobbies is seeking out spiritually diverse experiences, and I am also one of those people obsessed with the color purple.

As a trauma-informed therapist, my work centers on identity, healing, and relational transformation for adults working to reclaim clarity, autonomy, and emotional wellness. Whether you're navigating coercive relationships, trauma, identity loss, or a major life transition, this is a space where your experiences are genuinely understood and validated. Many of the people I work with are seeking emotional safety, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of self after experiencing emotionally harmful dynamics, including divorce, narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, cult experiences, or religious and spiritual trauma. These are experiences that can be difficult to put into words, and you deserve a therapist who not only understands them but can help you make sense of what you've been through. At the heart of my approach is a deep belief in our innate human need to be authentic and free. That belief shapes how I show up for you, as a supportive, grounding presence dedicated to helping you reclaim your life, your identity, and your autonomy. Collaboration, curiosity, and a deep respect for your autonomy shape the way I work with you. Every session is built on a foundation of trust and honesty, in a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and genuinely supportive of wherever you are in your journey. Using relational and trauma-informed approaches, we'll work together to help you better understand and reconnect with yourself, process painful experiences, and build healthier patterns in your relationships and daily life. I tailor everything to your unique needs and goals, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all framework. What matters most is that you feel genuinely seen, especially in experiences that others may not fully understand. Coercive control, emotional abuse, and relational trauma are areas I'm particularly drawn to and well-versed in. For many people, simply feeling validated in these experiences is a meaningful first step. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by both personal and professional experiences that showed me, firsthand, how profoundly relationships and social influence shape our emotional well-being and sense of self. These experiences didn't just inform my clinical focus — they deepened my commitment to creating a therapeutic space where people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Warmth, insight, and an authentic relational presence are what I bring to every session. This work is not just a career; it's a calling rooted in a genuine desire to walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself. Outside of sessions, you'll often find me reading, writing, or diving into investigative journalism. Hobbies that keep me both curious and grounded. Hiking offers a different kind of reset, one that connects me to the world in a way that carries over into how I show up for the people I work with.
Hi, I’m Megan (she/her)! I’m a therapist with a PhD and an LCSW, and I bring together clinical practice, creativity, and research to help people feel more connected to themselves and their lives. I primarily offer in-person therapy sessions and typically work with children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 8-30). My work is grounded in the belief that healing doesn’t happen in isolation; it’s shaped by our relationships, identities, and the environments we move through. I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I often support clients navigating anxiety, depression, self-harm, low self-esteem, trauma, and related challenges, while also recognizing that diagnoses are only one small part of a much larger story. Rather than focusing solely on labels, I center your lived experience and what feels most meaningful and helpful to you. I draw on approaches such as nature-based, arts-based, and play-based therapies, as well as client-centered practices. As a queer-identified therapist, I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ clients and providing affirming, thoughtful care that honors the complexity and joy of your identities.
As a psychologist, I approach my work, both in therapy and assessment, through a holistic and trauma-informed lens. I seek to recognize the powerful interconnection between emotional well-being and physical health, in order foster wellness within a person in all areas. Through my passion of working with diverse and marginalized communities, I prioritize social justice and culturally responsive care that recognizes the impact of identity, culture, and lived experiences on mental health and well-being. In my practice, I support individuals experiencing mood-related concerns, chronic and complex health conditions, maternal/perinatal mental health concerns, and trauma-related difficulties. I hope clients leave with greater insight and coping skills which create a stronger sense of self that blooms into a confidence when navigating challenges. I strive to create a therapy experience where clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. My broader vision is to contribute to a community where mental health care is accessible, culturally responsive, and viewed as an essential part of overall well-being.
As an art therapist, I use creativity as a way to help people better understand themselves, manage stress, and work through difficult emotions. Art therapy can be especially helpful for people who may have a hard time putting their feelings or experiences into words. Through creating, connecting, and working together, art therapy can help individuals navigate challenges, explore their identity, and build confidence. I have experience working with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, and other mental health concerns. Whether you are dealing with a specific challenge, processing a difficult experience, or simply looking for ways to improve your emotional well-being, art therapy can be a supportive space to explore and grow. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or would like to connect!

Welcome To Our Group Practice A message from the Founder and Clinical Director: I want you to know how excited I am to meet you. I light up when I think about ways I can support you and be a part of ushering human beings into a new world. I feel hopeful when I see the work of Brene Brown, HeatherAsh Amara, Tara Brach and many others like them who are doing work on a large scale to help us move out of the old paradigm of living from the head- comparison, acquisition, power at all costs, being the smartest person in the room, and fierce independence. We are evolving into heart-centered living- which is practicing empathy, compassion, acceptance, cooperation, openness, interdependence and curiosity. This is how I want to live, do you? I believe it is possible and heart-centered living starts with healing past wounds and freeing up our energy to take responsibility for our lives. I was a kid who had a lot of energy. I loved doing cartwheels in the grass, voraciously reading every single one of the books in the Babysitters Club series and climbing the weeping willow trees that grew near my house. I've always loved exploring, learning, and moving my body. Now, I use that energy to climb rock walls, hike mountains, and enthusiastically lead therapists in our thriving private practice while facilitating a kick-ass women's empowerment program. I get energized when I feel into how much healing we get to do together. I have discovered my gifts of curiosity, intuition, and a natural tendency to care about and hold compassionate space for others. I channel this into my work with individual clients, workshops that I facilitate, and the mentorship and training that I offer to the therapists who work with me at Insight. I want you to feel excitement about your life and journey towards bringing your gifts forth. We can help you discover who you are under the layers of self-protection, survival mode, and numbing the overwhelm. The first steps toward this is saying yes to yourself, beginning your healing, and trusting the process. Our group practice offers so many avenues for growth. We have specialties in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, group work and workshops, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Existential Therapy, and more. Explore our website to see what speaks to you and reach out to our Client Care Coordinator. She can determine who and what will be the best fit for your goals. If you feel a YES rising in you, if you want to live more from your HEART and SOUL- then give us a call and schedule your first appointment or join our next workshop. You are worth it. You matter. Take the leap! With Love, Respect, and Hope, Bethany
