Asking for help can feel like failure. But it’s actually the smartest thing you can do. You’re at a rigorous university. You’re surrounded by smart, accomplished people. Everyone seems to have it together: classes, social life, and future plans despite all the pressure. Except you’re in your room at 2 AM and your anxiety is spiraling. Or you’re making a decision that feels impossibly huge and you have no idea which way to turn. Or you’re just… exhausted. The problem isn’t that you’re not capable. The problem is you’re trying to figure out who you actually are while everyone expects you to have it all figured out. That’s where I come in. I’m Debbie Miller, a therapist who gets college students. I spent 25 years in Ann Arbor and worked extensively with University of Michigan students. I know the academic pressure, the social dynamics, the Greek life culture, the competitive environment. I still work with Michigan students via telehealth, and I genuinely understand what it’s like to be where you are. I work with students who feel overwhelmed by pressure, confused about their future, struggling with anxiety or depression, or navigating major transitions. Students who know something needs to shift but aren’t sure how. Here’s the approach: We work together to help you become an expert on yourself. We’re a team. My job isn’t to tell you what to do, it’s to ask the right questions so you hear your own voice clearly. To challenge you on beliefs that hold you back. To help you figure out what actually matters to you (not what you think should matter). This isn’t always comfortable, but discomfort is usually a sign that real growth is happening. Your pace, your direction. That’s the deal. Ready to talk? Call or email me to schedule your free consultation.

When Life Doesn’t Go According to Plan - THERAPY FOR LIFE AFTER LOSS, TRAUMA, & PROFOUND CHANGE You may be thinking, "This is not the life I ordered." Many of my clients once had a clear sense of where life was headed. Then loss, trauma, or unexpected change altered the path. They lost a person, a future, a sense of safety, a version of themselves, or the life they thought they would have. Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, stuck between versions of their life, or exhausted from trying to “move on” from something that still deeply impacts them. This work isn't about finding a bright side. It's about making space for what happened, understanding who you are now, and learning how to live in a life that no longer resembles what you expected. My practice focuses on grief, trauma, traumatic grief, reproductive trauma and loss, relationship challenges, family-of-origin issues, self-esteem, identity shifts, and major life transitions. I work with individuals, couples, and families ages 15 and older.

As a psychologist, I approach my work, both in therapy and assessment, through a holistic and trauma-informed lens. I seek to recognize the powerful interconnection between emotional well-being and physical health, in order foster wellness within a person in all areas. Through my passion of working with diverse and marginalized communities, I prioritize social justice and culturally responsive care that recognizes the impact of identity, culture, and lived experiences on mental health and well-being. In my practice, I support individuals experiencing mood-related concerns, chronic and complex health conditions, maternal/perinatal mental health concerns, and trauma-related difficulties. I hope clients leave with greater insight and coping skills which create a stronger sense of self that blooms into a confidence when navigating challenges. I strive to create a therapy experience where clients feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. My broader vision is to contribute to a community where mental health care is accessible, culturally responsive, and viewed as an essential part of overall well-being.

Hello! My name is Megan McConnell and I am the owner and therapist of Inner Abundance Counseling based in Denver, CO. My clients come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances, but are united by the feeling that they are not yet living their best, most fulfilling lives. They feel blocked from accessing the joy, connection, and sense of purpose they desire by issues like past traumas, anxiety, depression, and perfectionism. They want to be their authentic selves and live each day with intention, but need some help figuring out how best to do so. I have 6+ years of experience and have helped hundreds of clients like you achieve their goals. I aim to understand each of my clients as the unique individuals that they are, and if we work together I will customize my treatment approach according to what will best serve your needs. I balance compassion and validation of your experiences with direct feedback that will help you recognize and take advantage of opportunities for growth. We will know therapy is working when you start to feel more present, grounded, and content, and are able to show up to your work, relationships, and play in all the ways you value.

Has someone gone quiet when you mentioned how your person died, or said "at least they're at peace now"? Grief after a suicide or overdose loss carries an isolation most people never have to explain. If that's you, or you're facing any sudden death, painful breakup, ambiguous loss, or traumatic transition, you don't have to carry it alone. I provide highly specialized, trauma-informed grief counseling rooted in Narrative Therapy and relational care. We won't try to "fix" your pain or rush your timeline. Instead, I leverage my deep expertise to help you safely externalize the weight of your loss, process emotional trauma, and gently rebuild meaning, clarity, and hope for your future. You do not have to carry this heavy isolation alone. Healing from painful loss starts by taking one small step. I invite you to reach out today to schedule a free 15-minute consultation call. Healing is rarely a straight path, and having the right support can make all the difference. As a mental health therapist, my work centers on helping adults 18 and older from diverse backgrounds navigate the ways mental health shapes their personal, professional, and social lives, whether that means managing everyday stress or working through more complex challenges. My commitment is to meet you exactly where you are, as a collaborative partner on your therapeutic journey, to help you build the tools and insight needed to move forward. Together, we'll work toward the clarity, resilience, and hope you deserve. Compassionate, humorous, and guided by you — that's the foundation of how I show up for every person I work with. I believe deeply in the healing power of human connection, and getting to witness that unfold in practice is what drives me. At all times, you can expect a nonjudgmental space where laughter is always welcome alongside the harder conversations. My style is empathetic and adaptive, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Mindfulness-based approaches to strengthen your sense of well-being across all areas of life. Your unique goals, experiences, and needs shape the direction of our work together, because the most meaningful progress happens when care is truly tailored to you. My path to becoming a therapist began with first being a patient myself. This experience gave me a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to seek support and the profound impact attentive, caring treatment can have on a person's life. Today, that lived experience informs every session I offer. Alongside my clinical training, it grounds me in empathy and authentic presence, and I'm just as eager to learn from your story as I am to share the tools that may help you write the next chapter. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me recharging through creative and outdoor pursuits. Drawing and painting offer a meditative outlet, while fishing and archery bring a welcome sense of patience and focus. Reading keeps my curiosity alive, and regular walks help me stay grounded, a practice I find just as valuable in everyday life as in the work we do together.

I work with adolescents, young adults and adults who are looking to better understand themselves and create a more meaningful, connected life. I support clients navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, identity development, and relational challenges. My style is warm, open, and curious, and I strive to create a supportive space where we can explore what matters most to you. Together, we’ll tailor therapy to your unique values, goals, and lived experiences—especially in the areas where you feel stuck or uncertain. I bring over a decade of experience providing therapy that is collaborative, culturally responsive, and tailored to the unique needs of each person. My training is integrative—I draw from psychodynamic, relational, and behavioral approaches to support meaningful and lasting growth. Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit can be one of the hardest—and most important—steps in starting therapy. If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to offer a free phone consultation to learn more about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you might have, and talk about how I can support you in your therapy journey. I am a licensed social worker who helps patients navigate identity, interpersonal relationships, and loneliness. My work centers on people of all backgrounds, with a particular focus on queer, transgender, and gender-diverse patients; patients with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder; neurodivergent patients, including those with autism and ADHD; and patients in recovery from substance use. This includes teenage, young adult, and older adult patients navigating changing identity alongside mental health challenges, as well as supporting patients through crises such as suicidality, paranoia, and trauma-related stress. Together, we work toward healthy boundaries, stronger social relationships, and effective coping skills. When we meet, you can expect a calm, compassionate environment from the start. I use a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and somatic therapies to help you navigate acute stress and overwhelm before moving into more expansive identity work. Art and creativity are central to how I practice, particularly for patients who feel stuck in their mental health journey since it allows for communication when words are inadequate. I look forward to discovering who you are as we work together. My path to SOL Mental Health began with supporting disabled adults in the workplace. This work fueled my desire to always put patient autonomy first, above all else, in the therapeutic space. In my free time, I'm an oil painter, linocut printer, and digital artist. Fashion, movies, and live music round out my downtime.
