I tend to work best with students who feel a lot on the inside, even if they don’t always show it on the outside. Many of the students I support describe themselves as deep feelers, caregivers, or high-achievers. They might look like they “have it together” but often carry stress, worry, or self-doubt that no one else sees. Some of my clients are navigating big life transitions such as, living away from home for the first time, managing demanding academic expectations, or figuring out who they are and what they want in relationships, career, or spirituality. Others come in because they feel weighed down by past experiences of trauma, anxiety, or addiction and want a safe space to work through it. What my clients share is a desire for relief, clarity, and a more grounded sense of self. They want a space where they don’t have to perform, fix, or achieve—just a place to be real and supported. In sessions with me, you’ll find a calm, supportive space to slow down and be yourself, no pressure to have it all figured out. We’ll explore what’s weighing on you, whether it’s stress, anxiety, past experiences, or big life transitions. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, hopeful, and connected to yourself so you can move through school and life with more ease.
"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change," Max Planck. If you're looking for a therapist, you're looking for a change. As a counselor, my role is to help you see what may be hidden from your current perspective—recognizing patterns in your thinking, addressing the pain from past experiences, and identifying opportunities for strength, resilience, and change. I work with children, youth adults and couples. Before pursuing my degree in counseling I worked as a career and college advisor. I speak Spanish and am happy to serve the Latinx and Hispanic community.
I have advocated for and worked with youth and young adults for several years. I have experience in stress management, anxiety, depression, social skill development and college and career planning. I work collaboratively with clients to foster emotional wellbeing and personal growth. With experience in both therapeutic and educational settings, I work with students, families, and adults to create a safe, supportive environment where they can thrive. I am also a Certified School Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor who provides both individual and group counseling services. Using an integrative and solution-focused approach, I help individuals build resilience, develop effective coping strategies, and work towards meaningful change. I am a trauma-informed provider who specializes in supporting individuals and couples navigating conflict, depression, anxiety, infertility, chronic illness, grief/loss, trauma and transition. One of the bravest things we can do is begin to understand our own stories. Clients I support often grapple with the impact of narratives about who they were, are, or "should be", leaving them questioning, "Do I matter?" or shedding pieces of their identity to generate a sense of belonging. Together, we can explore societal and relational influences on your story, while identifying your values, strengths, options for healing and growth. I believe every client holds expertise in their own experiences and deserves the right to make decisions honoring personal journeys and values. My approach incorporates relational-cultural, feminist, and interpersonal lenses. I utilize the Gottman Method, CBT, DBT, IFS, and MSC strategies, also drawing from 12+ years of experience as a parent and educator. Everyone deserves to experience validation, compassion, and belonging. I am committed to facilitating a space in which you feel understood, valued, and supported as we prioritize your goals, explore your story, and incorporate strategies for reintegrating pieces of your Self so you also can experience increased personal acceptance and relational connection.

I belong to a well established practice in the local area with 10 fully licensed clinicians. All major insurances are accepted and there is a negotiable sliding scale for self pay clients. Our office is located right next to Perimeter Mall off of Ashford-Dunwoody Road. I myself have several years of experience working with dual diagnosis clients in methadone clinics and with a wide variety of clients in private practices. I have also worked as an Adjunct Professor and have much experience working with college age clients. I was the friendly, approachable assistant type of professor whom everyone came to with their problems. I have been an overseas student and know first hand how difficult various challenges for college age people can be. At times I have been too shy to go to the cafeteria. At other times I have abused drugs. I have had friends who were sexually abused on campus. In sum, just about everything that can go wrong in school I have experienced. In addition to his personal experience, I have professional expertise with addiction, sexual abuse, identity issues, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. If you are looking for a compassionate, professional clinician with personal experience of your own issues, please give me a call.
