My clients are exhausted and overwhelmed like you. They are tired of doing their best to keep all these balls (school, work, parenting, relationships, self-care, health and wellbeing, sleep + more) up in the air (even though admittedly they are pretty darn good at it). But when they inevitably drop a few because something else pops up or they get tired, life feels messy and they are quick to place judgements on themselves. My clients are expert problem solvers and doers, who in the face of stress, just keep going. Some are the type of person who the people in their life lean on for support. Some have tried a number of ways to fix or problem solve their way our of their emotions or exhaustion. They find their coping to work for a little bit but aren't moving them towards the life they imagined for themselves. Some realize they aren't sure they can keep up with all of what needs to be done to feel "okay". When some of my clients do take time for themselves or the rest they need, their mind struggles with feeling guilty, worrying about what they "should" be doing for work/school/person (fill in the blank with any responsibility). Like my clients, you deserve to find ease and connection in your body without a to-do list flowing through your head or scanning your body for what’s wrong now. Not being defined or consumed by your productivity is not out of your reach. I'd love to help you get there. Contact me today for a free consultation.

I work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with the challenges of daily life or who feel weighed down by issues of the past. My clients are often people who struggle with anxiety, depression, identity issues, grief, stress, or relationship issues. My ideal client is ready for change, or contemplating what the first steps of change look like. I practice exclusively through teletherapy sessions, and require clients to have reliable and consistent access to internet services. I offer a safe space for BIPOC, women, LGBTQIA+/trans/poly, neurodivergent, and other diverse communities. I am a very direct person, known for my honesty and “cut-to-the-chase” attitude. Over my years of practice, I have become known for my strength in work with teenagers and young adults, who have described me as “relatable” and “trusted.” I also enjoy helping adults work through life transitions and exploring issues of self identity and purpose. I believe strongly in the validation of clients’ feelings and experiences, to help remove stigma and shame. I believe that with support, clients can be empowered to make difficult decisions and take charge of their own growth.

With me, you’ll find a supportive space that recognizes life doesn’t always go as planned. Goals can shift—not as a reflection of your effort or worth, but often because of the realities life brings. Together, we’ll regularly revisit and adjust your goals to ensure they stay aligned with your needs and enhance your quality of life, even as circumstances change. I currently serve the profession as a counselor educator and supervisor while maintaining a small private practice, Rhythms of Hope, LLC. I also serve my community as a licensed clinician, an approved and licensed clinical supervisor, a board certified telemental health provider, and a nationally credentialed counselor. My greatest joy as a counselor is being able to support clients in becoming empowered to navigate shifting tides of their life while accounting for the reality of the unknown. I desire to not only enhance access to mental health support but also destigmatize mental health while enhancing access to wellness. Do you feel guilty if you say no to someone or ask for help with something? Do you feel like you're too much or too emotional? Do you want to stop dysfunctional family patterns and break generational trauma? Do you want to stop using coping skills that hurt you or your loved ones? If you answered yes to any of these, then you've come to the right spot. Together, we can discover the root causes behind your struggles with anger, anxiety, guilt, shame, depression, codependency, disorganized eating or low-self esteem. It only takes one person to break a cycle and together we can get you to where you want to be in your healing journey. I empower women, men and teenagers by giving them tools to find their voice and advocate for what they need. My goal is to work myself out of a job and give you the tools that you need to be successful. I bring a trauma-informed approach to my sessions that focuses on mindfulness, relaxation, self compassion and advocating for what your needs are.

In the beginning, clients typically tell me they can't stop thinking about food. They’re finding a large part of their day is dedicated to their next meal. They miss out on time with loved ones because the concern of what they will “be able” to eat is too strong. A lot of my clients find themselves in a dieting spiral. They “do good” for a while, and then they binge later, leading to feelings of shame and guilt. Most have heard confusing things about bodies throughout their lives. After some hard work and difficult conversations, these clients get their lives back. They stop thinking about food as much, they see their bodies as neutral, and they take back control of their lives. The time they used to spend thinking about food and exercise is replaced with meaningful memories with friends and family. My style of therapy involves a lot of humor, open mindedness, focusing on strengths, and providing feedback. You can expect a listening ear, a confidential space, and a therapist who wants to see you develop into the best possible version of yourself. I am currently seeing clients in NC(in person or virtual) and OH (virtually) Questions? Call or email for a free consultation!

Click this link to make an appointment easily online: https://www.rula.com/providers/SC/1164800447? I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. I have been practicing for 15 years and I love what I do. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Our mind, body, and soul all work together to create who we are. It is important that we work to get each of these aspects of our lives healthy. My therapy approach is eclectic style. I truly believe that each individual has unique needs that I want to ensure I meet. I have a great deal of experience in working with college students. I specialize in treating anxiety, adjustment, and life stressor issues, trauma, depression, family dynamics, anger management, ADHD, developmental issues, self-esteem, issues children and adolescents face, and more. My approach I utilize an eclectic style of therapy to meet each individual's needs. My primary approaches to therapy are CBT, Client-Centered, Solution Focused, Positive Psychology, TF-CBT, and Play Therapy. My focus I have experience in working with children, adolescents, adults and families. I enjoy working with all ages. My communication style My therapeutic environment and communication are open, non-confrontational, and judgment-free. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. My journey to mental healthcare When I was in high school, I took a Psychology class and fell in love with learning about the mind and how it works. I have always had a passion for helping others, and immediately knew that therapy was what I wanted to choose as a career. It has been the best decision I have made. My goals for you When working with clients on setting goals, I encourage them to create their own goals. I will provide input as well, and help them navigate this. I want their goals to be realistic and attainable. I want my clients to understand that therapy is their space and time to create their own goals. My first session with you In the first session I will inquire with clients what their goals are and what brings them into therapy. I will complete a biopsychosocial assessment with them and gather information to help me best meet their needs. I will introduce myself and my therapeutic approach, and allow for any questions they have.
