You may feel overwhelmed by academics, anxiety, or the pressure to keep up while also figuring out who you are in college. Many students feel stuck in their thoughts, burned out, or unsure how to manage transitions, relationships, and expectations. I work with college students navigating stress, anxiety, identity concerns, and major life changes, helping them build coping skills and feel more grounded and confident. Therapy can be structured and goal-focused or more reflective based on your needs. You don’t need everything figured out to start. I offer virtual therapy via video sessions. I'm available weeknights and Sunday evenings. I am in-network with most major insurance plans, with new plans added regularly. You can verify your specific coverage through my website (bottom of the page). Self-pay options are also available. Please reach out with any questions.
I provide meaning-centered counseling for individuals navigating trauma, chronic pain, and long-standing stress. My practice is grounded in the belief that experiences are held not only as memories or thoughts, but also within the nervous system as patterns shaped over time. When appropriate, I integrate body-based tools and insight-oriented approaches, supporting students who may understand their experiences intellectually yet continue to feel trapped in how their body responds. Work is paced, collaborative, and attentive to context, readiness, and lived experience rather than quick symptom fixes. My services are offered through in-person sessions in Frisco, Texas, and via secure telehealth across the state. My private practice is self-pay. For those wanting to use insurance, I also see clients through Legacy Trails Therapy, where select plans are accepted under supervisory billing. This can be discussed during consultation.
Healing Lane Therapy is a specialized private practice with experienced clinicians socializing in treating borderline personality disorder (BPD), trauma, challenges with phase of life and identify exploration, substance use disorders, depression, and anxiety. Our clinicians use a relational approach to develop a meaningful and secure attachment to the people they are so fortunate to work with in their therapy work. We also utilize dialectical behavior therapy, attachment based therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

I'm also a Tricare-Certified OON provider. For those with private insurance and Out-of-Network benefits, I provide superbills for reimbursement. As a licensed counselor, I believe the therapeutic process is a collaborative effort between the client and the counselor. I believe in the healing of the mind and body. My goal is that you feel safe, respected, heard, and seen. My approach is solution-focused and person-centered. I will provide you with a confidential, non-judgmental space to overcome your fears, to heal, and grow into the best version of yourself. I take an individualized therapeutic approach to each client’s needs after first assessing and determining the most helpful treatment modality. I prefer to focus on a person's positive qualities and assist them in moving forward by building upon those qualities to reach their personal goals. Y’all. Adulting is hard. You might be finishing school, moving out, starting a career, or trying to make big life choices that feel like they’ll define your future. It’s a lot. Between the pressure to “have your sh** together” and constantly comparing yourself to others, it’s easy to feel lost, anxious, depressed, or stuck. Stepping into adulthood can be exciting–and overwhelming. No matter how much you’ve prepared yourself for this moment, change is tough and let’s be real–adulting is hard. Growing up doesn’t come with a roadmap ( I know, I wish it did too.), but that’s because everyone’s path can look different. Many young adults come to therapy for help with challenges like: -Anxiety or stress about school, work, the future, and feeling “behind” -Overthinking and self-doubt that won’t turn off -Difficulty making decisions or feeling stuck in “what’s next” -Identity exploration–figuring out values, goals, or sense of self -Relationship changes with friends, family, or partners -Depression from not feeling like you’re good enough -Burnout from trying to do it all -Life transitions, like moving out, finishing college or starting a new job These challenges are adult growing pains, like when your legs used to hurt before you grew a couple inches. But you know, emotionally. Maybe you also have some baggage from the past that can make navigating these challenges even more difficult (Thanks parents!).
The college experience is not what Hollywood would have you believe. In addition to being academically challenging, students often face other challenges such as learning how to navigate the logistics of life (such as making it to an 8:00 a.m. class!) without the oversight and structure of parents, learning how to establish new friendships, learning relationship skills, and finding balance in their lives. It can simply be overwhelming. You may just need a little help. I am an LCSW and have 30 years experience in the social work field and have spent the past 6 years providing mental health counseling with students in a university setting - my favorite population ever! I have worked with students dealing with adjustment to college, executive functioning, relationship issues and navigating helicopter parents. College students can find themselves experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD and sometimes this is the age when issues like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia arise. Sometimes past trauma begins to rear its ugly head and cause issues that need addressing. Asking for professional help can be scary; but can help you determine if you might just need some skills to help you better cope or if you have deeper issues going on. Just know that you are the one in control in counseling sessions - I can't insist you share more than you are ready to share or "make" you do anything you don't want to do! You are the boss! I would love to walk with you in your journey! This can be a very exciting time and we want you to make the most of the opportunity.

I've spent 18 years working with teens as a high school counselor and teacher. Now as an LPC Associate, I use this previous experience to support adolescents and young adults as they navigate today's challenges. As a former educator, I have seen first hand the pressure that academics, social groups, and today's changing world can place on adolescents. Teens develop anxiety, stress, and negative coping skills to deal with this pressure. I help adolescents overcome these challenges by helping them explore their values, emotions, practice new coping strategies, and develop confidence that they will carry into adulthood.

Finding the right therapist for you is a Big Freakin’ Deal! I'm here to help you craft a life you crave. I have a knack for making people feel at ease in discussing difficult topics & won't repeatedly ask “how do you feel about that?” I take pride in not being a typical cookie-cutter therapist. Therapy is a place where you can be your true, authentic self. Authentic me is funny, creative, professional, transparent, cusses will find ways to make #hashtags therapeutic, uses quotes and other media in therapy, & sometimes share personal stories, when relevant to a topic we are exploring together. Some of my therapy “superpowers” are honoring your unique life experiences, holding them sacred, & being a gatekeeper for the information you often don’t share. I will accept you for who you are, where you're at & provide expert guidance to get you closer to who you want to be. *Now Accepting New Clients Exclusively for Virtual, Online Sessions!* You could benefit from therapy with me if: You are unsatisfied with your relationships and you keep accepting less than what you truly desire and aren’t sure why. You lie awake in bed for an hour or more unable to sleep because it feels like you can’t turn off the constant replays of the day or worries you have racing in your brain. You make “To-do” lists to help you stay organized and not forget things, but rarely cross everything off and are highly critical towards yourself about “not getting enough done.” Life feels like it is on rinse and repeat, day in and day out and you wonder if it will ever feel any different. You are working so hard to keep your shit together and simultaneously get off the struggle bus, but you feel so effing drained all the time. You thought you had “taken care of” or “were past” those awful things that happened to you so long ago, until everything recently came rushing back. You intentionally withhold sharing about your personal problems, because you fear “burdening others.” You deserve a mentally well-thy life and I am just the person to help! I will pinpoint what isn’t working and disrupt the hell out of what might be keeping you from moving onward to the next best thing for you!
